Not a bad half, Hughes has had a good game so far, apart from his mistake which lead to his booking. If we can keep them quiet for the first 20 minutes, hopefully we might get one or two chance on the break.Gelhardt who is class, may fashion something.
One or two looking a bit exposed at times without better players around them. Doing well to restrict them though. Gelhardt has been the bright spark.
I think people don't realise he's doing a radio show commentary that's being played over a live stream - today he hasn't even got the benefit of a monitor. He could do with a sidekick to bounce off but he hasn't and I think, under the circumstances he does ok
A point here is probably more then majority of us hoped for, they're sticking with it. WBA are a decent side and under Mowbray they're always gonna be well coached, just got to try and dig in and catch em on the break.
I liked his radio show. But as a commentator on TV he is crap. Never shuts up. You don’t need to be told every little thing you are watching. “ City are walking a tightrope. Not that I could walk a tightrope. Imagine me on a tightrope over the Niagara falls.” FFS. That female the other night was not very good but at least she shut up now and again. Burnsy is like Clive James once said when having a dig at David Coleman. “ A commentator tells you what you need to know. A Colemantator tells you what you didn’t want to know in the first place.” Burnsy is a Colemantator.
Don’t see a problem with Burnsy, waffles a bit but he’s harmless enough, knows the players names. He’s like background music, easy to ignore if you don’t like it.
Unfortunately I haven’t kept count as I didn’t know a pedant would ask me. If you want a ballpark it’s more than 10 and less than 20.
In those circumstances he’s doing a decent job. He has to over elaborate for the non viewing audience. Some of the rambling is a bit **** but think about Test Match Special and all the bollocks spouted there.
