Yes this is pretty much the crux of it. I'm not saying one is necessarily better than the other as both set ups have their pros and cons. This video does a far better job than anyone in explaining the concept as I see a lot of what Brighton have done in what we try to do
I was meaning since he has been with us maybe his technic has slightly changed and why now he is not having any success. People like JWP are practising and honing their skills constantly. Without you realising your technic can change, and it takes a coach, like with a golf swing to point it out.
I'm just starting to watch the video, but he explained "transition" as moving the ball from one side of the pitch to the other rather than what I thought it meant, ie. one team losing possession and the other team gaining possession. https://www.coachesvoice.com/cv/def...,the opponent's temporary, disorganised state.
35% of posters on here make up stats. 73% of that 35% successfully change the opinion of other posters by doing so.
I would have thought transition as moving the ball through your thirds is pretty obvious. I.e you're transitioning the ball through your thirds. Don't know why anyone would take it to mean transitioning it from one team to the other.
even though that is the more common meaning of the term? here's another example https://app.thecoachingmanual.com/Content/13645
