Harry kept on playing Phillips on the left. Phillips is an out and out right winger, that's his position. He can be utilized as a front man as well but nowhere near as effective as on the right flank.
He looked very uncomfortable on the left, couldn't get a cross in, couldn't hit the target when cutting in, couldn't keep the width and yet Harry kept on playing him there until his confidence was shot and consequently dropped. So for those holding the first half of the season against Phillips need to come up with new and better arguments.

Lionel Messi watch out... Barcelona star has just one more assist than QPR winger Matt Phillips as pair lead in Europe's top leagues

I agree. But he would be best in a 3 behind a forward or on the right in a 4-3-3 imo.
A winger in a 4-4-2 is required to work back and Phillips is not a fan of this!

It's the point I made all season. A better coach would have kept us up imo

May be Col. My my sarcasm laden point was that these players may not be so good. We get a penny more for Phillips than we paid for him, I'll be happy. Anything at all for Hoilett, Caulker, Sandro........

That's a massive myth IMO. Seen him put a shift in plenty of times.

Nope. He jogs back a la Bosingwa.
I've seen him pull out of countless tackles and headers though.

Effective in a 3 behind the striker, especially at Championship level.

Have you? I haven't. Certainly didn't pull out of that tackle to set up Fer against Newcastle.

Is that a trick question based on a player actually called Toilet?

If you mean Hoilett, your nan is better dead or alive.

Are you saying you do think that?

Ignoring a mishit cross and winning a penalty against Wigan, has he done anything at all?

It's an attempt to wind me up mate. I should imagine that, the fact that you don't get it is quite annoying to him.

I certainly rate him. However, like so many others, he has been very disappointing for us.
