Getting bored of Rooney. A move to Chelsea could either reenergise him and provide our rivals with the perfect tool to ensure league success, or it could lumber them with a has been (in addition to Torres <laugh>), burnt out Prima donna who has delusions of grandeur. I'm not too sure though I'm increasingly leaning towards the has been theory who feels threatened by the success of RVP and possible emergence of younger players hungry to establish themselves.

Question is what do Utd really believe? If Moyes (privately of course) decides that Rooney is past it and cannot produce at a consistent level the form he has shown season after season, then an offer, a large one especially will be too good to refuse.

However in order to settle the fans and indeed other players, 1 or 2 stellar signings probably need to be made. I'm not saying Bale or Ronaldo as I believe the Bernabéu is their destination; but other high profile signings must be made. Problem is the other top targets either have already moved, refused to move till next season or said I'm not going. What does Moyes do?

Doesn't look like Bale, Suarez or Rooney are going anywhere now though tbh.
I cant see any of those players moving on deadline day, they are too big players' for that imo.

Can't see Suarez moving, as Liverpool know they can't even come close to replacing him with the money they would get. Bale might still go, but only if he pushed for a big money move and Spurs ended up with £60-70m plus to spend.

But I still reckon if we can get Modric, or even Fabregas, in then we could let Rooney move overseas just to get him out of the dressing room and recoup some cash. Don't see him going to Chelsea, unless something mad happens like we get Ronaldo or Bale and sell Rooney to Chelsea to part fund the move.

In my opinion, thinking Rooney will ever move abroad is delusional.
The guy doesnt really come across as cultured and his wife's work is completely tied down in the UK (Fashion, presenting, magazine columns, she is no posh spice etc).
IF Rooney ever leaves United it will be within the UK.
I may be wrong, but I cant ever see it happening.
Also there has been no interest elsewhere in Europe.

McManaman, Lineker, Keegan and Owen didn't really 'come across as cultured' either, and they happily moved abroad. As for his missus, seriously? <laugh> She's a copycat talentless WAG, she'll move abroad just as easily as any of them do. She writes a magazine column which can be done over the internet, and moving to Paris or Monaco is hardly going to derail her 'fashion' career <laugh>

The only thing that may derail a move is that there's been no interest thus far. But that may well change if his position at Utd becomes untenable and we let a few clubs know we would be willing to sell him. Which we would almost certainly do before ever considering letting him move to Chelsea.

Rooney makes all the players you listed above look like Savants. The guy is a shaved Gorilla.
And yes moving to Paris or Monaco would derail Colleens UK high street fashion label career, she isnt Armani!
Similarly, she would find it hard to write about UK fashion and local news in her OK! column if she was in Paris.

I didnt say she was talented at all, but I just dont ever see Rooney going abroad. like I said, maybe I am wrong.

Hodgson said after Rooney trained on Monday for Wednesday's friendly with Scotland at Wembley that there was "no doubt in my mind that he's not suffering from a physical injury".

Probably afraid Vidic will give him an injury in training at Utd the ungrateful git.

He had to. Past his best, well past it. legends need to retire Matth. Things change. Utd just need to find a worthy successor.

I think Matth's point was more about Scholes tackling not retiring.
