Rooney was superb in winning the penalty, great skill.
England started to play once they went behind, moving the ball much quicker.
Wellbeck continues to prove his detractors, many on here included, totally wrong. Did really well to get his first on target and his second was sublime.
Clyne could be England right back for many years.
Gibbs is better on the ball than Baines and much quicker. Although I think Shaw will eventually be there for a long time.
Going forward, with players like La la, the very gifted Wilshire, Rooney, Sterling and Wellbeck England look very good and always carry a threat (with the likes of Ox, Barkley and Walcott in the wings).

Henderson and Jagielka are a long way short of being good enough at this level.

    Another win........3 points.............move on.

What is it about England that they totally dominate qualifying groups, but as soon as they get to the tournament they fail to deliver on all the promise? The pressure the media put on them seems to drain all creativity from the team, and they continually perform as if they've got a pineapple stuffed up their behind....

    True enough.

I remain hopeful that the next tournament may be different.

Never bought into the Rooney hype personally

He alays chokes in the big games and occaisions. Ill accept he's a good player and an asset to any club, but i wont put him up thier with the greats.

Nothing personal against him, i just thik he's living off a few past goals and a reputation whilst playing for man Utd.
Not seen Barca, Real or Inter come in for him yet?

just my opinion and could well be wrong <ok>

To mention him in the same category as true greats like Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Geoff Hurst and Gordon Banks is a joke, he'll never be anything more than a great club player who failed to do it for his country...

I think English supporters, me included so want a world great to be proud of, that some will settle for less, he is the best we got, so let's enjoy that, 100 caps and 44 goals, says it all, good figures, an England great, average world player.
