We're doing the same for Tim Cahill next week, don't see the issue personally. It's a meaningless friendly.

Not sure what you mean?

It's meaningless in terms of competition, it's not meaningless in terms of getting games into players, trying out formations etc.

Bringing someone on as a late sub has such little impact compared to the amount of fuss people have made about it.

I just thought it was odd to say the game was meaningless in one post, and challenge my view that it shouldn’t be played In that case by saying it wasn't meaningless in the next post, and explaining why

I agree with your post in that it wasn’t meaningless in terms of trying out players and formations.

We don’t agree whether Rooney should have played or not, which is fine, it’s only opinions, but we clearly agree the game wasn’t meaningless.

In a Universe ruled by chance and indifference, ultimately everything is meaningless.

Unless you follow Sartre and create meaning through the essence that follows on from your existence you'll forever dwell in a harsh, uncaring, black absurdity, which fundamentally can only lead to a despairing nothingness.
