    This <ok>
I remember we were linked in our Roeder days and I really wanted him. He was never worth £12 million from Chelsea a few years ago. He's completely past it now, his debut for West Ham proved this, they even highlighted just how poor he was!

Reports suggest Bridge would cost £2Million to take on loan and £80000 per week = £6Million plus for a past it 31 year old who helped West Ham pathetically collapse to relegation last season.
Pieters £7Million plus £30000 per week = £8.5Million for a 24 year old keen improving versatile Dutch international. Having just made £6Million, and rumours suggest more, for Enrique surely anyone can see Pieters is the much better deal.
Many also see Cissokho as by far the better player again and under the clubs policy also likely to have a good future sell on value and wouldnt cost much more than Pieters.
Come on for gods sake Newcastle, switch on and sign a GOOD left back NOW and stop looking at desperation deals like Bridge. Selling Enrique without a replacement lined up after a full summer to look around is pathetic and totally unprofessional and could well cost us the game in the derby this weekend because the excuses are already coming out now judjing by this article as to why we again wont have a left back in place for saturday. Bridge NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

My view is I wouldn't pay 7 figures to take Wayne Bridge permanently, so why we'd be negotiating it for a loan is baffling. I'm loathe to say this is a crock of twitter bullshit incase I tempt fate and it happens, but it does smell quite badly of bullshit. The one thing our owners have proved to be lately is tight when it comes to money. This would be like going to the top of a very large building and opening a suitcase full of money!

Just in case I'm not being clear I don't want Wayne Bridge. He's **** and gets raped all the time, and has a heart like a split pea. Stop spoiling the Cissokho dream too!

Newcastle in for Barnetta for £6m.... get Obertan for £3

Newcastle in for Erdinc et al. Get Ba for free.

    Newcastle in for Cissokho, Pieters....

    meh.

lads we're not getting Cissokho, Piters, Toivonen or anyone else you've heard of that would command a decent fee.

Surely you realise that by now?

Barnetta was injured according to his agent. Obertan is still good value for £3 million and has experience in the PL already. I'll give him time but after the Arsenal performance; he's looking a good buy.

Erdinc didn't want to come. Gamiero didn't want to come as he wanted either Valencia or PSG. Gervinhio was always going to a CL club.

The bids for the LBs have been confirmed by the clubs so we are after them but it's a case of the players wanting to come.

The chap from Sochaux has stated in the press he wants to come and the price is £7 million.

I don't see why getting good value on incoming players is such a bad thing to some people.

Why does this "seem like something we would do"? When the club is unloading old players in favour of young players who could potentially be sold for profit later, would they then pay over-the-odds for an old wash-up on loan?

LOL did you honestly think our **** board would sanction millions for a full back or even a striker. We are again being led down the garden path while the fat controller looks for frees

He is the complete opposite of our recruitment policy.

Except Bridge would hardly be free now would he? Not to mention, spending millions on a fullback that could potentially be worth double in a couple years would actually be considered a profitable investment for the club

People really think Ashley would pay 1-2 million loan fee and then 80k p/w wages?

Exactly regardless of your feelings on our esteemed owner, and the current lack of movement on full back/striker, this just does not seem very likely at all. Against the current policy which they are rigidly sticking from what we've seen, and the money being talked about would make him choke on his morning pie

A lad at work recons his mate works in the corporate hospitality at the club (I don't know this lad too well so obviously I'm not gonna say this is legit, just believable) and has told him that they are trying to get Bridge in on loan and are only haggling with City about how much of his wages they will pay, there is no £2m fee and Newcastle will not pay 100% of his wages. If he does come for a season long loan it will be on the cheap (or as cheap as the club can get). However, the mysteriously leaked info from the club will tell us all that there were agent fees, £xm to Man City etc etc to make it look as though they are paying just as much for Bridge as they would have had to with Pieters or Siss!!!!

True or not who knows? Plausible, yes!
