maybe Jip but there comes a time when one has to think about ones self, surely.

she has someone else in tow and I have been resposible for both my daughter and my stepson whose father has not provided for him both emotionally or financially at all.

    i shall probably not go.

i remember though that you were having your problems domestically.

trouble is it's never black and white is it?

One life mate live it, you could be regretting the decision not to go for the rest of your life. Go man. If it hurts too much when you are away you can always come back, but if you dont go the chance may never arise again.

No No No! you gotta try it dude, just think you could do so well that in the future you will be bringing your kids to where you are, and getting them out of the hole that is Aberdeen. This must be your goal.

i moved to perth 5 1/2 years ago and to be honest it is the best thing i have done. it is completely different from life in the uk as at times it can feel like perth shuts down at 8pm at night. if you move to a new suburb you will find you have to drive everywhere.

it is expensive, with many bars charging a minimum of $10 (about6.50 gbp) for a pint. The most I have paid is $15 which is in the region of a tenner. People tend to drink at home tho the pubs certainly in the city and northbridge are heaving on a weekend.

will you be working in the city or would you be working on a remote mine site? guys on the mine sites are earning $130k a year driving a truck all day but they are away 2/3 weeks for one week off. Wages are certainly more here than in the uk.

there is loads of british / irish people especially in the northern suburbs.

the biggest piece of advice i can give you is get a house with air con. if you are moving from aberdeen the heat will kill you

PM me if you have any other questions you want answered

Its best to do these things in stages ; why not try living in Perth, Scotland first as a bit of a trial....?

Actually, I would say jump at the chance...and if it doesnt work out its 24 hours on a plane and your back in the u.k...but, if it means leaving the kids behind..thats a whole different story.
