just looked up the plate tectonics The Arabian plate and the Anatiolian plates ... couldnt remember the name of the second one,, but further south west is the African plate which runs through the Med. part of it is close to turkey and syria!
one thing I didnt notice is Anatolian plate and the Africa goes through Cyprus. Looking at an over lay of the after shocks trans posed on WIZ's picture there does seem to be a tear [ secondary fault ] heading west in area underlying the wording East Anatolian Fault. It appears the larger African plate / Arabian plate was the cause [ collision / slippage ]. HOPEFULLY it wont generate other activity around the northern fault

What a week that was/ is heading sadly for some 40,000 unfortunate souls to have been victims to a double earth quake, 7.8 followed by 7 .5 with over numerous after shocks [ more than 60 over 4.0 ].It is thought by many that SYRIA/ TURKEY are hot dry places and Turkey is a fantastic holiday destination, but temperatures above 3000ft are quite a bit less than sea level and the stricken areas are real wintery areas with snow and -c temperatures. How lucky was that 3rd major earth quake not to kill 000's more! Those 3 plates are really having a tussle and maybe more to come! Whilst the 2 "major" quakes for us have been just tremblers when one/ two or 3 plates move it has to allow others farther away a bit of room to "move?".... Moon and Jupiter along with bright Venus are giving a wonderful show each night as the earth tilts back up straight! ... the heavens show us the summer star patterns. My window "sundial" shows how rapidly the sun sets are heading northward almost 30 degree's in the past 3 month's .. amazing when you think about it just over 4 months till the dusk starts drawing in again!!!!!!

HALFWAY THROUGH THE WEEK .... and bring back KEN BRUCE ... I tend not to go to bed till 3 am or later, so arise at 10 30 to the sound of Popmaster and Ken Bruce. 3 days in and the current presenter with a makeshift quiz has an annoyingly "terrible presenters voice" and the quiz is pants. 5 minutes of it today and pressed the off switch. I bet the listening figures will be way down ... maybe a good thing then get rid of the presenter and bring back Ken or someone who is at least almost as good as he was... when on holiday there was one or two who got by as his replacement but sorry the current one is worse than pants

No I don’t think he’s looking for a golden handshake, he’s just sticking to his principles. You may not like them, but he’s entitled to his views, good luck to him. He’s not a political journalist, he doesn’t work for the BBC either, and he’s aired his views on twitter, not whilst working in his capacity as a freelance on MOTD. There are lots of people whose views I strongly disagree with, but they’re entitled to have them, and state them freely, it’s part of living in a free society.
He may be the BBC's highest paid star, but he could probably earn even more if he switched to another broadcaster.
Ashton I am getting worried about you! if he leaves he will be in breach of contract, so could be sued ... if the beeb gives him a payoff [ golden or whatever ] it will be an agreement. Unlike youand I or others for that matter when we are employed it is until, made redundant, we leave or we get sacked.. when contracted to, it is different like footballers!
Regarding his "putting up" migrants... were they boat people no, ask him to put up 3 male illegals and see what he says! ............... ps I dont know whether he would or not but likely not!
He plainly isn’t within breach of contract or else they would tell him to desist or reprimand him in some way, they haven’t, so obviously he isn’t . He’s a freelance we’ve no idea what his contract conditions are, but the mere fact he’s carrying on and digging in would suggest he’s not doing anything to break his contract.

Yes, it did see, interesting, the Beeb has obviously been pressured by the Gov, I can’t see Lineker backing down, I see Ian Wright has stepped back too in solidarity, wouldn’t be surprised to see them both move to another platform, we’ll see.
