Terrible news for him, starting to look like he might be someone who's body just isn't cut out for profesional football which is a real shame. Bad news for the club as well think we all had high hopes for him this season.

scissor action from the defender

For me, one of the most intriguing aspects of sport is to watch/anticipate just how far a promising young player will go. Here in Chicago, a while back, we drafted a young kid out of North Carolina, and that turned out to be quite a ride.

Michael Jordan.

I was watching the game when Luke Shaw broke his leg, and when Kane got Lejune from behind. Nothing good ever comes from a tackle with scissor action.

Intentional/unintentional and whether the ref saw it or not - minimum three game ban - and that's for the first offence.

We have all this business with head injuries> [My daughter picked up a bit of a knock at basketball practice the other day, the slightest of bloody noses, she goes to the trainer for a bit of a clean up - and what does she get - a one half hour concussion test - and NO first aid! For those of you with athletes at home - practice naming the months backwards and balancing on one foot!] <but the players are afforded no protection from a type of tackle that causes a lost time injury about 75% of the time. (from my limited experience)

Duncan Watmore... to be continued

Suspected cruiciate ligament damage again, could be done for the season.

Awful news if true.
Horrific news but I remember a certain Bobby Kerr returned from a broken leg then broke it again - but returned later as our little general. We all need to keep a strong support for Duncan - I'm sure he'll come back stronger like our past little general:emoticon-0148-yes:

Hate to say it, but he's probably hit his ceiling. Worst injury in the game, players a rarely are the same again, most get on going problems with it and it's ended many a career. So sad for the lad. :(
Agree there and hadn't realised the extent of this injury. But as my other post shows it is possible to come back from serious often Edit Typo :career ending injuries as broken legs were in the 70's. I am hopeful that's all, you are probably being more realistic. :emoticon-0148-yes:

I've had a fractured ankle but not a broken leg, I have done my Cruciate Ligaments though when I was 15 and even now my knee gives out on stairs. It's getting worse in fact, Arthritis is setting in too which I becoming daily pain. I mean it's a tiny set of muscles that you whole leg relies upon to walk, well, it holds your knee together. Recovery is much better than it was though due to keyhole surgery causing minimum disruption.

I think he knew when he done it. He pulled his shirt up as he walked off almost as if he was trying to hide some tears and I feared the worst for him then. Hope the initial diagnosis is wrong but really feel for the lad if its true.

did'nt Meyler have the same injury twice and he is still playing now after a couple of year out?

I wish the lad all the best, on the positive side for him he does have a 1t class economics degree.

Not sure it was knee ligament damage, think he broke his leg twice and I believe that physiologicallym bone heals better than ligament.

Could be wrong on both counts.

It was definitely ligaments the 2nd time, he did them at Villa away and it happened right in front of me as I was at the game, just not sure if the first one was the same thing.

Watmore could possibly play again aswell but not at the same level as he or others expected.
His game is based on his pace and that will be drastically reduced now. He will also have psycholigical issues to deal with whenever hes in a 50/50.
Fraizer Campbells career drastically dwindled after all his problems and his pace was lost.
