played for long spells as a CAM today. His weakest area is passing composure on the ball and vision. So stick him bang in the middle of the park behind Defoe than Moyes. <doh>

It doesn't matter how good he is, there's no link up play between your front 6, it just looks like an all-too-familiar botch job, Moyes just seems to think tactics only matter in defensive positions.

Adnan had nobody working off him, to link up with, neither did Watmore, surely they're doing drills together in training?

Next game, Shrewsbury, a good opportunity to work on that.

I thought Watmore was ok at best today. But have to say our fans don't help the youngsters.

Had an opportunity to play in someone on the right and over hit into touch. Crowd in uproar.
Defoe, less than 3 minutes later, has the ball in the box with Watmore running into space and he literally passes it to Brad Guzan. Crowd (and most of the same people who slated Watmore) said he was unlucky. GET BEHIND THEM INSTEAD OF ON THEIR BACKS FFS

Not a big Watmore fan personally, he's good as a sub to stretch a game and hit people on the counter attack but apart from running with the ball he doesn't offer much.

Certainly wouldn't be playing him over Khazri and even Lens who is yet to show much for me, is he massively over-weight or is he huge with muscle? I can't decide.

    Lens?

He was ripped packing muscle a few weeks back. His muscles had muscles.

Also scores the odd goal and terrifies the opposition with his pace - still raw though

Raw shouldn't really be a word attributed to a 22 year old in this day and age, that's the sort of word you'd use to describe Marcus Rashford.

A lack of games and the fact he was at Uni doesn't mean he's 'raw talent'.

This is his season to show what he's made of.

Spot on, its all about combinations, sometimes its natural and immediate, sometimes it needs working on, we are atm a side cobbled together out of neccessity, too many reasons to go into, Our front runners looked very disjointed yesterday, and all need to improve fast.

Not criticising his pace, work or enthusiasm but I thought he would have improved a bit more than he has.

Maybe I was expecting too much.

Atm he is some way behind Fabio and should only be on the bench as cover or used as an impact sub, he did OK yesterday and was heavily involved in our best spell of the game.

We should be using him to best suit us now. He's at the point now where we know what we're getting. Off the bench he's still bloody dangerous. But as for starting give me Gooch or Greenwood all day long.

Sadly don't get to the "reserves" any more so can;t comment on Greenwood (but have heard a lot say good things about him!)
Gooch has been excellent and starts just about every week for me from the 2 games I've seen. Looks a very good, committed and tough player. Decent on the ball and seems to like a tackle (although 2 yellows in 2 games isn't good - although, on balance, his first one was a joke!) Ran himself into the ground on Sunday.

Raw to me means he's inexperienced so this is why it's his season to show what he's made of

Seen him play when the kids are streamed. Better football brain on Greenwood and Gooch. Watmore is for brute raw attack.
