Funny cause Wickham was brought back from a loan with limited experience and saved us. McClean was promoted from the youths and helped saved us. Both brought a direct urgency that gave to life to boring squads who weren't enjoying their football, could string chances together and had lost interest. Sound familiar? MoN and Gus Poyet must fall into your 'hell of a manager' category even though they weren't, but even they had the foresight to install a spark to lift whole teams who were staring relegation in the face and going down with a whimper. it's not like Watmore is a defender or a keeper. He isn't going to cost us the game and our other forwards are doing naff all and we are completely devoid of pace. No brainer for me. I think we would have seen Watmore yesterday if not for Brown's injury.

I think Blunham's probably summed the whole thing up here. Every promoted kid who doesn't reach PL standard immediately brings us one place closer to 18th place. Having said that, I think we all agree on 'look where the seniors have got us'. I think, having lost yet another game yesterday, Watmore's going to get a chance pretty soon - we're getting close now to 'nowt to lose' time.
At no point did we play well yesterday. We were garbage. I just hope that the players are looking at a massive wage cut when they are relegated. If any of them think the will walk into another premier league team they are deluded. You know that conversation we always have about who you would take from relegated teams? Well who would they take from us????
That's an interesting point you've brought up, Tony. When Niall Quinn was still Chairman, I remember him saying relegation means a 40% cut in wages for everyone at the club - including himself. He said that was written into every Sunderland contract. Does anyone know if that's still true? I hope it is frankly.

I've not singled anyone out!! I said that I don't understand why everyone wants him in the team as he's not done anything in Scotland!! I also said I would love it if he came in the team and did great, and that Id had a few bevies when I made the thread and maybe some people have got the wrong idea..
