I agree which is partly why I left him - if that had been my first experience of him I would have modded so as to make him well aware that whatever goes on other sites we tend here to be somewhat less colourful in our language
Remember guys if we come down hard on visitors without giving them a fair chance ,then we will get the same treatment if we feel the need to go visiting!!!! Be nice to most and most will be nice to you
Best way to be ! Would hate for you to be busy on here modding things when you have a shed demolition to complete
I'm a lovely guy really. I can't stand Marlon King and I don't condone his behaviour. I just voted for him because he really is the greatest Watford striker I've seen!
Check him out on some old youtube vids!! He once scored a hatrick for England albeit v luxembourg (should have scored 9 on his own)
Always thought Ross Jenkins scored heaps of goals ,but apparently his goal to game ratio wasnt as good as most bet he had loads of assists though)
I would like to vote for Barry Endean only because of his winning goal against Liverpool which I saw live and at the time the ball seemed to take an age to go past Lawrence's fingertips & hit the back of the net! Billy Jennings was an excellent finisher & in a better team would have scored twice as many goals (that's not to say his team mates weren't good). Out of that list it's got to be Luther as he scored regularly over a number of seasons. He used to get so many chances with Barnes & Callahan on the wings but he also missed some sitters & I love him for it! I once saw him 'clear' a ball off the line The shot was going in & he stuck out a leg to put it in & claim the goal but instead it richoched wide!
Sort of agree that Luther is the man, not only for his scoring record but he did it with a smile and apparently still does, the genuine article is our Luther. I voted for the former Ross Jenkins as I have great memories of an effective, if not unnatractive style of football, that got us to dizzy heights of over achievement. If I remember correctly it went something like this, Hoof from Rankin (maybe Coton), picked up by Barnes, run past everyone & cross, nod from Jenkins, poach by Johnston. Could have got the combination wrong, PC 48 was always throwing me out
In those days Norway the Rookery faithful numbered about 100, I always remember the Year Norwich got promoted and filled the Vic end on a very rainy day. As soon as they saw an empty Rookery they invaded and got themselves out of the rain. However, PC 48 was a large and intimidating presence during home games and got off by kidney punching young lads for committing crimes such as, jumping or cheering or dare I say swearing! On a number of occassions I met with his displeasure and remember him fondly for it.....
He was upset at having so nearly made the 'Eagle' comic - missing out by one would frustrate anyone .
Of course as I advance in years the memory can get a little fuzzy but hey, never let the truth get in the way of a good story. But he did reach the height of popularity of having his own song, very short, very exact and to the point...
It is funny to think that Ross Jenkins got off to a slow start with Watford and we tried to sell him - then only about a year later he was our player of the season.
