Bit of both. Was a good ball but Austin was too smart for the defenders.
What Austin did well there was ignoring the defender in front of him and being positive that the ball was going to come to him. A surprising number of strikers don't react because they simply expect the defender to get it.

I'm sorry but I think Kane has fooled everyone into thinking he's played a blinder by playing much better than his usual poor work.

I'll break down why not:

Several times he made a clearance in the box and basically headed/touched it right back into danger.

A lot of crosses into the first defender.

Often turned backwards when he could have looked forward. When he turns back, he's got no left foot to pass it back towards the middle of the pitch. Got stuck because of that a few times.

Positives: good effort, committed, some cracking crosses at times. He did well. Seems like a good guy. But I'd still play Kakay, so that we can actually break teams down on the right hand side.

So, for me, there are players who didn't put a foot wrong and deserve MOTM.
Awjm, dwell on the positives tonight, we won!!
Yippee :1980_boogie_down:

Great result. Kane was mom.
He did so much.
I didn't give Wallace a chance with Sarr but on the whole he did okay.
Barbet and Duckie are now a real unit.

Wonderful result...but don't rest on it
Only 7 points off the relegation places...hard to believe after tonight's performance
