Friend was poor again, or at least didn't have much help from his linos however it appears both disallowed Sunderland goals were onside so perhaps we wern't playing against 12?
Well, that is that for the season. I think there will be a lot of changes over the summer, again. I am now going to take a break from all Watford related things until two weeks before the season starts. Take care all. Enjoy the Copa America, well worth a watch and coming soon! http://es.ca2016.com/matches
Thanks to all who have done threads and for the banter and companionship whilst us exiles watch our buffering streams!
...... oh yes ....glad of a break from them Fair result... we should have got at least one other goal but you need to shoot on target for that....
...and loads of empty seats in the stands......... annoying as I had to sit in the corner of the lower rous.....as that was the only ticket 'available'
One of the mysteries of life that, the way Abdi has been used this season - akin to having a thoroughbred do the work of a carthorse imo. I like to think that the new guy, who was apparently watching in the stands, is right now plotting how to build his team around him. You're right about Cathcart too - he's a central defender not a right back. A few weeks ago, when Nyom & Paredes were showing a major lack of form, I thought it would be good idea to try him there - but it gave the team a distinct lack of balance. I think if QSF had played Anya there yesterday we would have gained a better result.
I have had the same thought about playing Anya as RB for few weeks and I was moaning like hell about playing Cathcart as a RB in the pub before the game, only to get to the ground to find out he had done it again - then to see that at half time he replaced him with one of your clown RB's.
Just watched the replay...The linesman gave 2 of our goals offside that were onside...The ref gave you a penalty that wasn't. Good job we did not need 3 points. You looked dangerous on your corners we were not handling them well at all. Cannot understand the sacking of your manager
Agree about the goals - they were good and should not have been disallowed, but how can you say it wasn't a penalty? O'Shea having missed Jurado with his agricultural swing of the boot then, in his follow through, gives him a deliberate short arm jab in the throat that a wrestler would have been proud of. Please watch it again and be a little more honest with yourself.
You mean he gave us a penalty that was - and denied us one that also was, when Ighalo was dragged over backwards in the box with score at 0-0., and another immediately before you scored your second, when Deeney was pushed over from behind in the box. I'd say the ref was no Friend of either team...
I wanted to see the Deeney one again but MOTD didn't show it nor about 3 of our other attempts in the first half. Strange editing on that programme sometimes. On a different note, didn't the 1881 get it spot on with the 'surfers' with bringing the Quique one out again (great editing there because I'm on MOTD just as the banner goes over me ) and the new Gino one? It clearly showed the balance of most people by thanking QSF but still very much 'in Pozzo we trust'
Like anyone outside the club, you can't understand why Flores and the Pozzos couldn't agree and therefore his get out clause was enforced by both sides. If you'd had to sit through the dross we've had to suffer since Christmas, you might understand but it doesn't matter if you do or not, Watford fans generally understand, thankfully!
