We'll take it after the other week. Funny to read on the Stoke site talk of big boy bias.... Us a big team!?
Then pause it on 53 seconds and from behind the gaol it might just be over the line. Does allt he ball have to be over the line or just 51%? If it is allt he ball that was never a goal.
Probably all really but I think the ref looked at his watch just as Pedro was going in on the goalie. Talk of handball for the 3rd (by Sema I presume?)
Ultimate meltdown on Not606 and the EFL and Three Counties Watford first, Luton second and Wycombe third winning the Playoff final I know it won't happen But, But But
Just switched on Sky Football in the hope of seeing the goals - much to my surprise that match against Leicester is on. Settling down with a large rum and a large grin - Vydra has just given us the lead..
My fun moment on EFL quest was when they showed the Cleverley goal in slow motion and the pundit counted to 5 seconds between the shot hitting the bar and the ball crossing the line when Pedro and the keeper came together!! He was attempting to show that the ref could determine that his watch didn't signal goal when the ball came down from the bar.
That goal is the perfect example of the discussion that takes place about goalkeepers protection. I think we have to assume that the ball did cross the line as the technology was working and said that it had. The point is though did the keeper take it over with him? My immediate reaction was that he scooped it up behind the line, and fell forward with it. I also thought that had VAR been available, someone would have said the keeper had been fouled. The ref was quite close and didn't see anything wrong, but then as far as I know he is not an EPL one.
I think the ref wasn’t looking at the time. He did go over to the 4th official who must have advised him. Could the assistants not help ? A classic case of always watch the game maybe. Ref was an ex player too!
I was under the impression that the 4th official is not there to advise the ref. Apart from keeping managers apart I have never quite known what his role is, but didn't think it included on the field decisions.
Quite possibly and maybe the ref knew this too. A good example of where hearing from the officials might clear the situation up?
Now I'm not biased in any way whatsoever, but... The only mistake the ref made was to not give the keeper a yellow card. Watching the replay from the Hawkeye angle, it's quite clear that, once he had the ball in his control, rather than Pedro barging into him, he barged backwards into Pedro - who was pulling out from lunging for what had been a loose ball. A deliberate foul by the keeper...
A full match pass refund announced by the club - except for the foreigners who are only getting £5 back...
As I read that, as a foreigner I should get back my £7. The £5 is for monthly or annual subscribers it says, who already have a discount.
