Ground that out with an eye on Monday. Another win, another clean sheet, that's what the stats will show not that we barely got out of first gear. I'm sure the players will be more rested for the Boro game. It is unfortunate that we then play next Friday as well, others getting better recuperation time.
Munoz also said Joao Pedro's right ankle injury needs assessing further but that initially he thinks it's not a big problem.
Not his fault. I was entirely to blame. Immediately preceding that lose touch I said: “Glad he brought Sanchez on to shore things up.” Mea culpa. I humbly apologise.
I thought the ref good yesterday, early yellow card to SW to stop too much nonsence and dealt with most main incidents well.
Ismaila Sarr added his thoughts on today’s win: “I’m feeling much better now. I worked a lot during the international break and now I am fit.” “I am very happy with today’s performance. All I can do is to continue working hard. “The supporters give you that extra push to win the game. Now they are not here, but we will continue to push until they are back. “I think they are just rumours [about moving away from the club]. I still have three years on my contract and I want to stay. “The intensity is much higher in the Championship, but the Premier League is what we are working for. “I love playing with Kiko [Femenia] and we understand each other on the pitch. “The main goal is to keep gaining points. It’s not important if we win the league or not, our goal is the Premier League. “It’s very important to stay loyal because supporters make sacrifices to support us. “Every game is like a final at this stage of the season. There are no easy games in the Championship and I expect a tough game against Middlesbrough.”
The Swans’ one was extraordinary. As was his lino who missed that handball! How could the ball hit the right side of his torso and go left? If that physics-defying explanation didn't happen, it must have been handball. Not that I’m complaining, mark you.
Ground it out with an eye on tomorrow's match at Boro imho. Did it without getting into second gear. I really thought the international travelling and extended break would take an expensive toll but in the end we coped, they fluffed what lines they had and extraordinarily, everyone around us lost ground too. Hopefully tomorrow we will see an improved performance together with at least a point.
Alas, they will not probably be with us long enough to become so. Let's enjoy them whilst they are here
