Watford v Reading. As the season reaches its final countdown Watford are in a great position to take second place with destiny in their own hands. They play play-off hopefuls Reading at the Vic on Friday. A win would pile more pressure on Swansea, in 4th, who have lost their last 4. Also, Brentford in 3rd, who have drawn their last 4. This is something we have all been keeping a close eye on, although, Muñoz says he is only focused on our preformaces. The gap that Watford have over Brentford is 9 points in the table. Brentford have a game in hand and play PNE away on Saturday. Swansea trail by 10 points and also have a game in hand. They face Millwall away on Saturday. Surely, the Bees and Swans can't keep dropping points. As the pressure mounts and 1st place seems out of reach Watford's remaining fixtures are: Reading (h), Luton (a), Norwich (a), Millwall (h), Brentford (a), Swansea (h) We are now at the business end of the season. No room for complacency with a potential promotion on the cards. Can Muñoz's men cut the mustard? Team news to follow. ¡ENJOY THE GAME! ¡¡COYH COYH COYH!!
Form clearly favours us. I also think we will be the more confident.... and if we carry on playing with the same dynamism we will get goals..... We are not conceding goals.... so we really should do this.......... However there is a niggling
I am really hoping that Tom Cleverley is fully fit again by Friday. As well as Philip Zincernagel or Dan Gosling have done to keep midfield ticking along, they just don't seem to have the same dynamic drive that Tom brings to the team.
Maybe slow down a bit,Reading are full of 'emselves after results at Easter and have players that could keep Bachman (and his Turner Overdrive ) busy. Didnt note much 'dynamism' v Sheff Wed or Middlesboro either. Hope you're right though !
Our spy in the camp. According to the Hob Nobs site where the Reading fans gather, "Biggest game of the season next, a trip up the road to Watford." " Watford are on the sort of run that Reading started the season with having racked up 10 wins and a draw from their last 12 games, consequently they are now odds on to join Norwich in an instant return to the PL. In addition to their current run the home form of the Hornets is the best in the division with only 2 defeats (to Cardiff and QPR) and 16 victories from 20 attempts, also those 20 games have seen them concede just 12 goals so it’s going to take quite a special effort from Reading to leave the ground with any form of pointage." 2-1 to Watford is the favourite scoreline at the end of the game.
Reading will score three times when the ball hits the corner flag. At least one of those goals will be at the Reading end.
Yep,am watching The Royals (as they like to call themselves}closely this week. They are announcing a few defenders will be unfit so theyre probably praying Gray & Success dont team up from the start
We both also remember overdrive in cars too.... for me there is the hope that Dynamism plus plus = Goals (eventually) (as per GT)
Aside from managing the usual knocks and niggles at this stage of a condensed Championship campaign, Watford’s medical and rehab team have just three players in their full-time care right now. Tom Cleverley suffered a small set-back to his return from a knee ligament strain the day before last Friday’s Sheffield Wednesday match, but is now pushing to be fit for tomorrow’s Reading clash.
Getting a bit nervous about tomorrow, big game as they start to run out with dangerous fixtures to come and a make or break promotion on the line. COYH.
Someone did point out in the Reading site our form against the top teams hasn't been so great for various reasons but mainly away from home. Just need to put in some good solid performances - doesn't have to be outstanding or free flowing but getting the 3 points is all important.
A few goals would be nice too - none of this 'score one then relax' business that frays nerves and fingernails alike.
It can be nerve-wracking watching Watford but calm yourself by the thought that the likelihood of the defence letting in even 1 goal is 50/50. Unheard of recently to let in 2 so now you just have to ask yourself if we are capable of scoring a goal? And the answer to that is yes! Now open that bottle of and enjoy!
