Like that mum who strangled her son ,then cocked up her suicide attempt, You can hang her with the belt she killed her kid with!
The space is everywhere in the Lower Rous. I think you'll find that there's space on the Rookery side too......and 1000 or so families? Assuming that a family is on average 4 people.....you're saying there's 4000 Watford fans in the family section when it's only half the stand and can't possibly fit 4000 people......and the fact that the family end is probably less than 1/2 full on a regular basis. Perhaps true....but that lack of depth perception can happen in The Vic Road end/Rookery End too......the amount of times I've thought a ball is going in the net when it's actually coming out the box is countless... I don't think QPR fans were the problem, I thought security was the problem. How does more Millwall fans = more trouble? Not all of them cause trouble.....and the only trouble was them throwing stuff at fans in the family end. If there was no family end there....rather more Millwall fans.....then they have no Watford fans to throw anything at. They might throw stuff at each other instead but that's not our concern A point I've already argued against a few times....... I doubt there's over 1000 fans in the Vicarage Road end......and there is easily more than 1000 free seats in the rest of the stadium. Over 80% full? Our capacity (minus the East Stand) is something like 17,500. At 80% capacity that is 14,000 fans (we've only had that amount or more fans 6 times this season). That's still (minus the 2000ish away capacity) 1,500 free seats. I can guarantee you that there is not 1,500 fans in the Family Stand, hence there is space. You feel safer next to the away fans? It may be cheaper....but that doesn't mean upon relocation that they would have to pay more. Watford managed it when there was family sections in the Rous Stand in the past. Most likely just have family sections on the corners.....no offence but you are paying less afterall....and other fans aren't going to be happy paying a lot more for worse seats. Tell that to Millwall. Watford don't usually provoke or get handed trouble....because we're not a big club, and don't have a lot of hooligans. Still, like I said before if there is no Watford kids or adults next to them then they have no one at all to assault.
From my solitary trip to the vic, for the qpr game, I was surprised because I saw a lot of empty seats in the rookery and the rous and I thought that the last home game of the season wouldve been jam packed!! Maybe not enough to re home everyone although there were empty seats there as well! I think the majority would have been able to be re homed and others would`ve had to been given cash compensation ! Next season the saints will bring a few Brighton , Leeds etc will fill an end easily and give the club more much needed revenue! The only solution is to give them the whole Viccy road end!
Our core support is about 11-12,000.The ground is supposed to hold 17,300. So maybe 3,000 QPR fans plus a few extra Watford fans because of the opposition takes you up to the 15,500 attendance. From the pictures I have seen it looked more, and questions have been raised about how the count is done.
http://www.not606.com/album.php?albumid=195&attachmentid=2620 a photo I took of the rookery on the afternoon in question your honour , I move to offer this as evidence of empty seats in the rookery!
and a photo of the Vicarage road end I draw your attention to the density of the away fans ( I mean that in the nicest way) http://www.not606.com/album.php?albumid=195&attachmentid=2628
Easily enough empty seats there. This isn't even including the Lower Rous which has many empty seats too.
I couldnt get a good shot of the rous as I was right in the middle of it!!! But there were batches of empty seats away to my left !
Clearly there are people in the foreground moving around, so one has to say that this photograph was taken before kick off or at half time. If the former the fans were still having a drink or two and if the latter they were letting it out.
Didn't realise you were in the Rous Norway - assumed you would have gone to the Rookery - you seem to have been near my old season ticket - below the TV gantry
Very Observant Oh Frenchie type one we were quite late to get to the seats , I would have to ask W-y but I would estimate the time of photos to be 2 mins to kick off ! Coz I only had chance for one come on you horns and then the game started!!
Normally Leo I would have done ! But W-y had organised a special trip into the legends lounge, I was about 3 rows down from the directors seats and bang in line with the half way line. Had a great view apart from when the ranger in front was waving his flag around! for minutes at a time ! it was him I had to growl at!
Well how are you going to organise it? you are saying to move the thousands of home fans to random seats spread around the ground or move or move the other fans to create more space to dump the VR fans. I dont think you could convince fans to just move to random seats, this could entail groups being split up if there are only 3 seats available. the capacity for the ground can only be about 15000 and we are getting 14000 at most games. The whole idea is ok in theory, but it is not practical!
Three rows in front of the directors and you didn't notice if Baz was counting how much was left in his piggy bank.
I did see him .................it was a horrible sight , nearly upchucked my last guinness I am no oil painting , but uncle Baz is just Ugly!!! born at the top of the ugly tree and must have hit every branch on the way down!
If that is the case then i appologise. I still maintain that some people will not want to move. Myself included.
I've given up. The moving fans in the Rookery/Rous stand is a fair question (though I think it is possible)....but the thousands of fans in the Vic Road end? 15000 capacity?? 14000 at most games? I've pretty much stated as fact that all these claims are wrong. If people need to be moved in the Rookery/Rous....then so be it too. Simply give them a new card free of charge....and make sure that groups stay together....something easily possible with all the empty seats. Which brings me back to my very first point. Despite all the positive reasons for moving on all levels...there will still be some stubborn fans....and they should just deal with it and accept to be moved or don't renew.
