Just watched the short highlights Bayo was silly but a yellow card for pushing back, not worth a red Sargent looked very offside for his goal The coming together of Georgi and the keeper NOT SHOWN so must a been a pen, probably given other way round Poor decision making by our players when chances are created but not finished, Georgi shoots when he should pass or cross and passes when he should shoot Abankwah looked very good today, should try and keep him and Doumbia looked good when he came on, deserves his chance in the next couple of games
My Friday night viewing of third tier French football throws up some awful referees. Card happy, miles away from the play, and seem to believe that the fans are there to see them strut around. Last night, the one we had was excellent. Talked to the players, warning them that the next foul would see them booked, kept up with the play, and didn't seem to make a wrong decision throughout the whole game. Players rolling around were ignored, so stopped doing it. Compared to the one at Watford today, he was miles better. He could teach Lewis Smith how it should be done.
If anything Norwich looked better at 0-0 and 11 v 11 almost scoring a couple of times but we dealt with going a man quite well . They seemed happy to settle for 1/0 and we had a lot of ball and positive play . The defence was actually solid and had some pace to it . Unfortunately having nothing up front hampered us and the usual loose passing etc
Referee Lewis Smith told Tom Cleverley at half-time yesterday that he had sent Vakoun Bayo off for an elbow to the throat of Norwich’s Emiliano Marcondes. please log in to view this image It was what you see at every corner these days, pushing and shoving.
