City, in a dispirited mood after losing to Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final less than 72 hours before this meeting, will look to put that loss behind them and add three more points to their kitty. Watford, on the other hand, are in troubled waters having suffered a 3-1 defeat away to West Ham in their previous Premier League outing. That loss leaves them just 3 points outside the relegation zone, meaning that a visit from their nemesis Manchester City couldn't have come at a worse time. Moreover, manager Nigel Pearson was relieved of his duties just over 24 hours before the game in question kicks off. please log in to view this image "When you work in football, a lot of things happen. We have had to deal with manager leaving. We can’t let it dissuade from our focus," he said. "The club have made decisions, we have to be professional enough to deal with it. "I had a meeting with the owner and chairman yesterday. We had a good session today and yesterday to prepare for tomorrow. "We are a good team, a good unit and squad. We have shown since December can get results. We're confident in what we are trying to do. We have to try and be positive tomorrow. "I really enjoyed working with Nigel Pearson. I learned a lot and it was a good experience for me. Watford haven't beaten City in over 30 years, with their last victory coming way back in March 1989 in the second-division. Moreover, the Blues have been particularly harsh against Watford since the arrival of Pep Guardiola, beating the Hornets with an aggregate score of 35-3! The home side have also gone 8 league games without keeping a clean-sheet, which is a worrying sign for their supporters. Perhaps, they can draw inspiration from the last time they did so - an emphatic 3-0 win against champions Liverpool - and hope to emulate something similar. WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE WORLD - ENJOY THE GAME
"I really enjoyed working with Nigel Pearson. I learned a lot and it was a good experience for me" How will that go down with the top dogs at the club! Anyway be typical Watford if we got a point after all this.
I am not sure we will enjoy this game Yorkie! But you never know, beat City, get 3 points, stuff of football dreams.
It is just a question of how many we win by. Hopefully we won't waste as many chances as we did against Liverpool.
I will need to have a drink during the game I am sure....... Talk about a cliff-hanger.... this is a season-hanger!
right now i would settle for a 1-0 defeat as long as Vanilla lose v the Gooners!! Of course i would be delighted with a drab 0-0 draw where 99% of the play is in the middle third of the field
I'd be ok with the drab 99% if the other 1% involved a last second breakaway goal by Sarr. I'll be doubly happy if Mullins dumps NP's dreadful formation and plays 3-5-2.
Graham Stack · I’m excited and really looking forward to tonight! An unbelievable opportunity for WatfordFC to secure our Premier League safety. Proud to be involved and play some part in this great occasion. I wish I was looking forward to tonight. Still he cannot agree with me.
Well If we do and Villa do, chances are West Ham will lose at United, so that makes for a cracking game for them against Villa on Sunday.
West Ham's goal difference will save them. The only worry what if they play for a draw to keep both up.
