I think this is undoubtedly a great post. We win, we get promoted next year, we get into Europe the following year, and we get the chance to kick the ****e out of galatasary Can't think of a better near to medium future
Sadly all teams have a minority that drag it down for the rest, we have a few although I am glad to say not who use this forum
I agree it would be truly wonderful to stuff Watford and as a result get Hull promoted.................. though on a sadder note, if Hull go up, we won't have to play in the same league as them (and listen to the remarkable footballing insights of their fans) again for many years, as they are bound to pass us in the opposite direction next season as we go up
when have we won an appeal? BM was probably basing on that on what would happen iuf it had been Reading
JLA if they had rescinded it they would have had to reprimand the ref which we all know that's not gonna happen they always look after their own. **** the fa
It has been done before... I have just watched it again (for the umpteenth time) - happened right in front of the ref and I cannot see Austin's arms coming up or anything. Just seems like an accidental shoulder to shoulder contact. I ref myself and feel that I look at these things impartially. I am gobsmacked that he was sent off to begin with, cannot describe how I feel that the appeal was unsuccesful. They must have a different angle view and see something we cannot.
What shocks me about the incident is that both players are running straight and the Brighton player runs across him, and he defends his own line. That is it. Unlike what Eddie Gray said on the radio, that Austin went after him, that was completely untrue from the video. If the FA did not rescind that, it is a shocking travesty.
As I see it, they are both running with an eye on where they are heading with neither showing up in each others' peripheral vision. Purely accidental. If one believes in conspiracy theories and the like, then it is possible that Austin is running into him because of the clash they just had. Even then, at worst it could be a YC for USB just to calm things down. Truly amazed!
I was living in Izmir, Turkey at the time of the Leeds fans' deaths.. some things go beyond football. It was a tense period, shortly afterwards me and my wife were surrounded by a bunch of young Turks at a bus stop and they were asking "Are you English?" thankfully my Turkish wife said "No he's Australian" and they went away.. I could go into detail about customs and respect and the like, how not to behave in Turkey but it doesn't change the fact that people were murdered. After that game I cheered on Leeds when they mauled Besiktas 6-0 and was proud of them. It was a victory for Yorkshire in my mind.
