    Mariappa was maybe lacking fitness?

I believe Newcastle want him although not sure if that is true given they are in line for European football!

You guys were very good on set plays in the first half but as my fellow Orn says we actually looked more comfortable as a defensive unit with 10 men whilst causing more problems in attack once Big Chris I came on.

TBH It looked like in the 2nd half both teams knew their play-off hopes were over.

It doesn't say much if Cardiff sneak in having been pretty average since Xmas!

Funny you say good on set plays because we have been awful at them all season and have only scored 2 goals from them

Dunno. But he turned down a move to Wigan at the end of January, because he wasn't prepared to leave Watford for a club he felt would be in the same division as us next season.

Regretably the 1-1 draw @ Watford just about summed up Hull Citys season. Another game that we should have had won by half time. 5-1 would have not been unjust by the end. Watford have one chance of note and score. Chester gets us off to a great start but what was Fryatt thinking or doing with that 2nd half chance. He needs far to much time on the ball. 7 yards out almost in front of goal and he delays the shot and the defender get in a good tackle. Oh well. Nothing Official yet, but Deano is in as a striker coach. Got the call after he came out of rehab and Deano said as much on Late Kick Off apparantly. To me IF this is true then it can be only good news for next season. We need a shot on sight policy Not a faff and baff approach as of now.

One last thing, The constant Chester will leave crap is utterly tiresome. Alot of Hull City fans will be very surprised with what actually happens in the summer and not just here. Finance is now king for most of the 92 clubs. Middlesboro have announced that non of there out of contract players will get the same or better again. The ones who do get new deals will be alot lower than now. Players Like Bates(CB) Hoyte(FB) are just 2 of there main squad who could well leave and for nothing. Barry Robson is off abroad in the summer, MLS i think.

Cardiff and Middlesboro have to almost loose there last 3 games to allow City back in. Season over as far as promotion is concerned now but at least a better points total and league position to last season is still on. Lots to play for. Maybe finishing 7th will hammer home to the Allams that they need to open the cheque book just a little more. Time will tell. UTT
