I don't think anyone would have been frightened by our performance yesterday. We ground out a result based on solidity at the back, but we didn't show much attacking threat.
Maybe you might turn up for a glass of Champers my little 'Scarlet Pimpernel' (Leave your Chelsea kit at home though )
I'm getting a bit depressed by the 'grinding out results' talk. Unfortunately I think its realistic with this squad, but I would love us to humiliate rivals like we did in 72-3 (even though we only finished second) and 82-3. Still as long as we are in with a shout, mustn't grumble. Let's see where we are after 10 games.
Which is why I didn't give mention him mate. We were a very functional outfit, plus Adel that year. Having seen Hull and Palace yesterday, that is all it takes to get out of this league by the looks of it.
Fair enough, but Watford and Wigan can play(though this may not be reflected in their final league position). When we get Harold's preferred 2 decent wingers (and for me Faurlin) playing we'll be better to watch, but for me a good football team is a lot more fluid than the rigid 4-4-2 we will play.
I'll be happy as long as the gap between us and the team in 7th remains at least 1 point. We don't have a stand out talent any more, but once Hoilett and Philips are in the starting line-up then we'll be more of threat going forward.
