Am liking your optimism KA but they way "struggling" teams are taking points of the big boys this season I am fearing we may need 40+ points not to finnish third from bottom.
I was going on the Herts Mercury prediction programme where everyone who predicted the results ended up with a bottom three having less than 33 points. I think there are a lot of teams having to play each other so that means the total points available is shared. I won't rest easy until we are mathematically safe though
Taking West Brom out of it that would leave Swansea and Southampton getting less than 6 points out of their last 30 or the others above them less than that return from their last ten games.... Brave call by all
Interesting comment on ESPN: With a sweeping through-ball in the first half and a late header when pushed up for a last-minute corner, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had more of an attacking impact than most of his outfield teammates.
Glad my evening was not spoiled. Yes not a pretty game, especially the first half. I saw an Everton team with names like Rooney, Walcott et al which really should do better than pack the midfield in their half in order to frustrate us. From our part we battled and shut them down when they got the ball. Our defense looked good and our second string goalie has been excellent - cool headed, some good saves and a clean sheet. Attacking I feel we are not crossing enough or early enough with TD getting frustrated. Garcia's substitution was brave and TD and Okaka up front made a big difference as they can feed off each other resulting in TD's excellent strike. After the substitution we went for it, like last time we played and it paid off and I found quite entertaining. We also saw the game out. Overall I am encouraged.
Will he remain our second string goalkeeper ? The one thing I hope is that Gracia gets the chance to settle in at the club and bring us forward - the signs look good. What we really need now is a manager who can finish one season and then start the next with the knowledge he has gained.
Yeah I am especially given the decent players we have. Nevertheless, at this stage of the season and given how tight the bottom is 3 points is more vital at the moment. Maybe it-ll get better when injuries come back. Gracia made some good subs at the right time yesterday, something I have only ever seen Slav do. https://www.watfordfc.com/matches/match-review/match-review-watford-1-0-everton
Not sure that he's our reserve keeper anymore? Methinks Gomes has a task to get his automatic place back.
