I think there may be some truth in this. The history of football is littered with talented players who never succeeded in discovering how to play in a team. What concerns me most is that we have too many of those at the moment. The gestures, facial expressions, arguments and body language...when things aren't going well...suggest it's not a very united group at the moment.
That's what concerns me too Theo - when you contrast recent weeks with that superb effort against Huddersfield when we were down to 10 and drawing 2-2 it's not making pretty watching right now. I keep telling myself that all we need is to gerab a win and we'll be back on track but I am not entirely sure where that might come from right now.
yup I was a bit hacked off as i'm at a gig but it does mean I won't have to spend 90 minutes hiding behind the sofa.
I'll watch it, as don't get the chance to see many as it is. Not on a great run for the cameras mind...
I think the result on Sat was a travesty of the game, but because it's the 4th loss in a row it all seems like a crisis. Well, a draw at Ipswich was entirely reasonable, Derby played much better for 50+ minutes, but only scored with 'wonder shots', whereas we scored the best goal of the game from a team point of view. As we finished, we could have beaten Derby. We didn't work as hard as we should against Brum. So an entirely reasonable outcome from the 4 games would have been 2 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. And we are still only 2 wins off the top. Cheer up everybody!
I watched a similar game live on BT Sport this morning - West Sydney v Brisbane Roar. Sydney mostly dominated the game, especially the second half, but failed to find a way through and lost to an early Brisbane goal. So reminiscent of Saturday, with the obvious difference that this time I was happy with the result...
