Must admit, that will probably be one of the easiest games this season. Brighton offered very little and our defence coped with them easily. Hopefully we can keep Kabasele and Cathcart fit. Would be nice for them to build a partnership.

Also nice to see us play 2 up top - both played much better and Troy looked much fitter and hungry to chase down than maybe he has done recently. If we stick to 2 up top, it certainly has potential if they can build up that understanding that Troy and Vydra had,

Let's hope Pererya can keep fit too - if we can, then very much a case of Richarlison-who? Doucoure does look a little under-cooked but that should come with a few games. Capoue played very well again - Chalobah will find it hard to get back in at this rate. Actually thought Hughes struggled a bit in that first half, but second half looked very god - although still think he comes centrally a bit too much, so think we may look a little vulnerable at right back!

All in all a very comfortable win against a very poor Brighton side. Considering that was mainly the team from last year but they signed a lot of players, their team will be very different in 5 games time.

As for MotD highlights - they made it look much more even than it really was... they must have shown pretty much every Brighton attack... but Hughton was very honest, and even the pundits said how comfortable we were

We might have to wait a couple of weeks for Hughes to be that good. Walk on water by October?

Yes imagine they'll be a few that will take a few games to get totally up to speed - Hughes and Doucoure, plus Chalobah and Delofeu once they're back. Wasn't a very good preseason in that aspect, with a number of first teamers not available

Pereyra tops the Sky Power Rankings yet Dennis Wise doesn’t put him in the Sky ‘Team of the Week’. <confused>

A couple of goals in the EPL should increase his value a bit more. An extra £1 or £2 million?

So rich was worth 20-25M and we sold him for about 45M .So Pereyra must be worth 50M would you take 80 M ?

It would have to be a daft offer as the club cannot replace him now the transfer window has closed. Mind you I did read comments suggesting that he could have a sudden loss of form. Reminds of someone who I seem to have forgotten. Short term memory loss is common at my age. :emoticon-0100-smile

would be daft to sell RP at any (reasonable) price now considering we can't get anyone in.

It was reported that we turned down 37M for Iggy then took 20M after he had a loss of form and now Rich .So how much for Pereyra we are all assuming there is not release fig in his contract

If he does not state that he wants to leave, we will not sell him

Given his departure (perhaps prompting others) could lead to our exit from the Premier League, no club could afford him. Richarlison wasn't performing and we got 44m for him. Pereyra is and was performing. Again, no one could afford what his loss to us could mean.
