If that had been a few years earlier Fez, it could have been me. Our Rugby team at Adeyfield consisted of 15 fly-half's and we used to regularly get battered on and off the field, but the last game I would have played would have been around 1972. We used to play teams in Snalbans and Bushy as well as the usual 'emel schools - many of whom no-longer exist!
The only question I have for this game is how long Bournemouth will need to get the penalty kick they always get in games against Watford.
Mine has long gone as I was in the final full 5 year intake whereafter it merged with Bushey Hall on our buildings and grounds. BH was, of course, sold for housing. We'd travel as far as WGC and Stevenage to play rugby. We also got to play at some of the more salubrious schools in the county... they never came to us though, odd that - well perhaps not. Not much return playing the private schools to say the least. Football was relatively local but again we did get out to Monks Park(?? WGC) and Marshalswick(StA) and my last competitive match for the school was the U16 FA County Cup final. Sir Bertie Mee, Tom Walley and various others were in attendance. My nerves got the better of me. We lost to Sir Frances Combe. I did end up at Wealdstone the following season. Relegated. On landing my first job I went with a colleague to his rugby club, first egg chasing for two years. Encouraged I went back but they had been gentle with me If I told you that club was London Irish....I joined a rock group instead and didn't kick a football for another six years or a competitive rugby ball ever again.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...er_been_harder_to_choose_his_match_day_squad/ QSF with a selection problem, at least he has a lot to chose from!
No!!!! he is such a dick head, I have us to beat the promoted teams in the league . after that news i will be happy with a draw .
We always used to have some rucks with the South Coast mob - I never forget a random bottle hitting an old lady right in front of me -thrown by the cherries hooligans - always find that sort of thing tends to taint your opinion of people and their morals - oh Borehamwood was my manor ....
Will miss this and next 2 as skiing in Austria so bah. Hoping to return and some nice points on the table, at least 4 to reach the magical 40. Was in a pub last May in Somerset and it was owned by and full of Bournemouth supporters who maintained they would win the championships, I of course disagreed only for the Hornets to let me down but we have made a better fist of the Prem than they have so far. They were nice folk too, so hope they stay up as well. COYH!
Just watching my son's training-will be setting off just after 11. Think we've got to be very careful with this one, we know they can be dangerous and it just feels like there's an extra chance of something silly like a red or a pen happening-it's Anthony Taylor today who gave one of the strangest ref performances I've seen in the Spurs game...I don't think we should sit back at the start, let's show them how we can play and take the game to them. Looking forward to it-COYH!
