Wasn't so much the foot I was referring to - more the leg. Contact on both lower & upper leg at the same time as a push (however gentle) in the back... All moot now though.
Bellerin's went wider than Richarlison & Carillo's attempts - Capoue hit the upright, and Gomes was simply too good for Ozil. If their two should have gone in, so should our three & we should have won 5-3
Dermomt Gallagher didn't think it was a dive so that is 2 refs who did and 3 that didn't.. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...pe-retrospective-action-says-dermot-gallagher Just shows how inconclusive the incident was!
Danny Murphy is one of the 'squad' of experts who get called upon for panel duty - after his comments on MoTD, I wouldn't mind betting he was on duty today.
If they want to find a goal that should have been disallowed for offside, they should look at Vydra's yesterday - the Derby no.10 had to move get out of the way of the shot. Ironic it should happen in that match given Clough's comment about interfering with play.
As I said elsewhere: soft penalty, but a penalty all the same. Good on Neil Swarbrick for making the big call correctly. Within the media arguments I am reminded of "that" penalty incident when Knockaert had the strength to get past Briggs' not quite robust enough challenge outside of the box and then went over like Sargent Elias at the end of Platoon as Cassetti brushed his shoulder once inside. The difference is, of course, that Richarlison got a genuine nudge in the back and thigh contact too. He and Bellerin (a player I have always liked since his loan spell) are two of the quickest players in the PL (never mined Kike) so such an outcome was always likely. Richarlison is not being punished, rightly so. It is now all in the past. Chelsea next up and that is where our focus should be now!
Sad to say it will not be in the past "most managers" will bring it up saying they need the ref to be strong with the 50/50 decisions just to try and get the refs to give very little to Rich
