A very good question that I doubt anyone here has the answer to. The project is failing a bit at the moment, so lack of communication, which has happened at our Pozzo peak, isn't really expected, sadly.
Dead right all of that. My Mrs says sometimes go out with my mates and let off steam. Does the trick!
Maybe we just got lucky in the early Pozzo era with players coming in and making a positive impact ? Since 2019 cannot think of many signings or managers who have made a long term impact on the club . The managers get cast aside at the first sign of trouble and so much has been wasted on unfit players or those who haven’t fitted in or suited x managers plans .
This has just come up on our site. The dreaded vote of confidence! https://x.com/WatfordFC/status/1883089931188498932
I doubt that Gino Pozzo actually had any direct involvement in this statement, which was issued on his behalf. Some people, with contacts within the club, are suggesting that Gino Pozzo and Nani want to replace Tom Cleverley, but that Duxbury wants to keep Cleverley. The decision to look for another head coach was taken after the QPR defeat, but it would appear that Gino Pozzo has been taken by surprise by the leak from Spain and the strength of the supporters' reaction. This statement is probably only delaying the inevitable.
Sounds like the Rob Edwards situation. Scott Duxbury must only still be there as he gets paid well because he seems to be very much in the background and undermined. QPR game? Well yes that came after a disappointing defeat to Cardiff too but before that we'd done fine with 2 wins in 3. I mean with the run of games coming up potentially we could have a poor run for a while so the new manager if there was one will be in for a hiding to nothing.
I've always liked the Tommy Docherty quote about Douglas Ellis who gave him a vote of confidence at Villa saying 'I'm right behind him!'. Doherty replied 'I'd rather he was in front of me where I can see him!'
Well if they wanted Cleverley sacked wouldn't that just be accepted so wouldn't have to pay them off?
I don't think I would read too much into that, as Tom is likely to have far more day-to-day contact with Duxberry than Pozzo. What is striking is the statement on Tom's future came from Pozzo. Duxberry could well have stated that it had to after his previous one on Rob Edwards was overruled.
I wonder what the difference was between the two offences? Also wonder why this rule isn't in the men's game.
Ref seems a bit clueless - waved a yellow for this red card offence. Then 5 minutes later sends off another Watford player for dissent. Lewes now leading 2-1
