Shame really, just one year off a testimonial match - if they still do such things. I wonder where he's off to?
Ah. Pity. Mind you given the rubbish the vocal minority put out on SM (and indeed from the stands) I'm sure that it wasn't too difficult to refuse any reduced terms that he may or may not have been offered. Best of luck to him, and thanks!
I am rather sad to see him go. Maybe he is not quite quick enough, but he has not lost his ability to anticipate what is happening. There were many times last season when he was in the right place to block an attempt, and the defence seemed much calmer and assured when he was playing. I hope he finds another club, one that will use his experience to help younger players learn their trade. The very best of luck to someone who has served the club well.
Quite . Many seem sad to see him go and praised Cathcart for a good career but no doubt were slagging him off mid season ! Definitely can do a job in this league for someone.
Silly as it sounds, he's probably the best option we have - unless we manage to make another Pat Rice-like signing soon.
Would he be better off anywhere else, I am wondering if something toxic behind the scenes he did not like. I am pretty sure he would all the SM drivel.
Interview with Ismael on the BBC site. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66097970 Sure he has lots of good ideas and thoughts but how long he gets to implement them is anyones guess !
First friendly tonight . https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/23634347.ismael-just-happy-watford-squad-back-pitch/ Well the only one for now but must be some lined up behind closed doors .
"Valerien Ismael warned against reading too much into anything fans might see this evening." I hope this isn't him getting his excuses in already...
