Poor mans Super League, BUT could be good for us clubs that are not part of the BIG SIX I still wish the so called BIG six would just pack their bags to join a totally pointless circus show and leave the rest of us to make the Premier League and Championship more competitive and therefore more enjoyable
James Morris has committed his long-term future to the Hornets, signing a new contract until the summer of 2026.
Oh dear - potentially get into trouble with the FA now ? Maybe an update on the Kamara deal investigation ?
Yes although if some had their way Morris would be going too . I mean yes it’s been a very disappointing season but some players will stay and he can improve no doubt . Are we really going to have a situation where literally our whole squad is going to hated? That cannot be helpful and surely got to give young players a chance at least . Anyway no doubt if Morris left people would complain about how we have lost another young player.
As I say they’d soon moan if he left . “Another youngster we’ve let go etc “ We won’t be signing the sort of players we had in the PL now and it’s hardly like our better players have stepped up and performed well this season. I know understandably there is general frustration at the club obviously but we should give young players and those new ones we sign in the the summer a chance along with the manager. Otherwise we’d be no better than those people the fans are protesting about and want out .
Anyone know what the renewal rate has been in past years? No idea whether 90% is good or not. I know there'll always be some churn regardless of club performance/wider economic considerations.
They will probably take that tbh . How many turn up if things don’t improve is a different matter ! Although apparently people can still cancel their direct debit u till the end of June.
True fans will always support the club and the team I dont particularly want a new owner (Bassini etc) I just hope that the owner and board recognise that a future in the Prem is now back to being a medium term project and not a short term fix
Fair point - the fact we usually only had 12/13k before getting promoted says a lot as to where our real level of loyal support might be. I remember when 10k was a decent gate in the 90s and people now claim that was a good era compared to now as there was a connection with the club/players etc. Maybe there was but it wasn't reflected in the gates. Of course a lot of these fans would soon be back if we had a successful season - much like our promotions in 98/2006 and 2015. All off the back of mid-table or worse finishes the season before. As you say it just needs some stability in the club player and management wise rather than everyone looking over the shoulders all the time.
