Adam Levanthal's thoughts in The Athletic. Ouch!! https://archive.is/2023.04.20-08054...29527/2023/04/20/watford-broken-wilder-pozzo/
If I were the owner of such a dyfunctional outfit who has seen numerous capable managers come and go without any long term success I would hold a conference with all those managers present and ask them to speak freely in the hope that at the end of the conference there will be an agreed way forward which will be implemented.
They just basically blame everything on the manager regardless of the situation or ability in the squad . A very Italian football thing creeping into the game generally.
This sounds like a government minister trying, unsuccessfully, to justify his/her latest misdemeanour. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/23469100.watford-comment-fans-make-free-speech-allegation/

Oh dear! https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ord-season-ticket-fans-pozzo?CMP=share_btn_tw The comments below the article are worth a read.
Some very valid points and concerns raised but will these people come flooding back if there is a change at the top or the team’s form improves? New owners won't guarantee success and improvement straight away. Only good recruitment and managerial appointment will do that. What will be the expectation and demand from fans and the club next season? Has to be greatly reduced to some extent I feel .
I haven't trawled through them all, but take heart from the fact that the disconnect I'm starting to feel is shared by fans of myriad other clubs. I suspect it will only get worse - fans long for success but success is neither guaranteed nor does it come cheaply - and at some point in the not too distant future the game will suffer when an ever increasing number of fans switch off completely. To be perfectly honest, that may be no bad thing - the game needs a reset.
