Well if it's true Norway, lets hope it is the start of a bidding war and we have the gonads to hold out all summer!

Yes - and of course DG is so desperate to get away from Watford that he would go for a paltry sum to a club that should have finished below us - not

If anyone mentions less than 5million for danny g they no where the door is. Quarter of the year that large piece of real estate is doing nothing, is there really no compatible activity that could use the ground and provide the fans with summer entertainment?

Only problem is everyone is ditching heaps of players! upside is we might be able to get a few on the cheap, downside is Fees for DG and others will be forced down !
Its actually good to finally see sense coming back to the market! Apart from the silly money that will still be thrown around the prem !
Hopefully Ashley will be involved in this!

From today's Watty Obs by Anthony Matthews »
Scott Loach has used his Twitter page to reveal he has missed out on selection for the England Under-21 squad for the UEFA European Championship in Denmark next month.

The Watford keeper was hoping to be in Stuart Pearce’s final 23-man squad but appears to have lost out to Frankie Fielding, of Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough’s Jason Steele and Alex McCarthy, from Reading, if the England coach selects three stoppers as widely expected.

Loach said on the social media website this evening: “Didn’t make final 23…so no more 21s for me. Just an honour to have gained 14 caps for my country. Time to relax and have a few weeks off now.”

Probably a rest will be good for Scott - hope it helps him re-focus

Also from today's Watford Observer by Frank Smith »

Watford defenders Lee Hodson and Adam Thompson have been named in the Northern Ireland squad for the Carling Nations Cup games against the Republic of Ireland and Wales.

Manager Nigel Worthington has named a young and inexperienced squad for the matches with the Republic of Ireland, on Tuesday, May 24, and Wales, on Friday, May 27.

Scotland also face the two countries this month but Watford midfielder Don Cowie has not been called up by Craig Levein.

Not unexpected but confirmation - from the Watty Obs By Frank Smith »

Shareholders of the Hornets’ parent company who have yet to sell their stake to Watford FC Limited have been told their shares will be ‘compulsorily acquired’.
Watford FC Limited (WFCL), which is owned by Stanmore businessman Laurence Bassini and fronted by his close friend Panos Thomas, sent ‘compulsory acquisition notices’ to shareholders on Friday.
As of Thursday, WFCL controlled a 94.37 per cent stake in Watford Leisure Plc and those yet to sell were informed they had until June 24 to accept the offer of 1p per share otherwise their shares would be compulsorily acquired - unless a court order is made.
A Watford Leisure statement released to the Stock Exchange read: “WFCL announces that compulsory acquisition notices (the "notices") pursuant to section 979 of the Companies Act 2006 are today [Friday] being posted to those Watford Leisure shareholders who have not yet accepted the offer (the "non-assenting shareholders") setting out WFCL's intention to acquire compulsorily all remaining Watford Leisure shares on the same terms as the offer.
“Unless non-assenting shareholders apply to court and the court orders otherwise, on the expiry of six weeks from the date of the notices, being 24 June 2011, the Watford Leisure shares held by non-assenting shareholders who have not accepted the offer by 24 June 2011 will be acquired compulsorily by WFCL under the terms of the offer and such non-assenting shareholders will be entitled to 1 pence in cash for each Watford Leisure share such non-assenting shareholders hold on that date.”
The offer of 1p per share will remain open until ‘further notice’ and the announcement states at least 14 days notice will be given before it is closed.
WFCL stated on April 28 the company had applied for Watford Leisure to be delisted from the Stock Exchange and that this will take effect at 7am on May 31.
The latest announcement reiterated: “Such cancellation of Watford Leisure's listing will significantly reduce the liquidity and marketability of any Watford Leisure shares in respect of which the offer has not been accepted at that time.”
