You are correct, Hornet-Fez. He was only 18 years old in November so he will be eligible as an U-21 player and so will not need to be included in the Premier League squad of 25 players.
I think that you are probably correct, Markthehorn. His preference is to stay for another six months with Envigado, but he said that he is waiting for a decision by Watford. He will need to bulk up (as João Pedro did) to cope the with physicality of the Premier League and I do not think that he will get much playing time while Watford are in a relegation scrap, but it would give more time for him to adjust to a different culture and country (similar again to the situation with João Pedro) so that he is ready for next season. The decision may depend on whether his family are prepared to move with him to England, although he does have 'Cucho' Hernandez (a young, fellow Colombian who can help him to settle in) already here. He will get more playing time if he stays at Envigado, but I am not sure how much that will assist his development - unless he plays more games in the national team. He does seem to be an exceptionally talented young prospect from what I have seen of him and read about him.
I presume he would want to come and play in the Championship if the worse happens? I remember those two highly rated lads we had ready to play after we got relegated but they soon wanted out - Luis Suarez was one.
He seems very ambitious, judging from his comments in an interview when he was with the national team. Watford might have to send him out on loan if they are relegated to the Championship in order that he can play at a higher level. The problem with Suarez and Estupinan was that they had spent a long time out on loan (in order to gain work permits) so they had no affinity with the club. At least Hernandez had spent some time at the club's training ground during his rehabilitation from injury. Asprilla might be more likely to stay at Watford - rather than go out on loan - and to play in the Championship (as João Pedro did) if he arrives now.

Interesting article about Yaser Asprilla written by Daniel Edwards for Goal.com, although the author seems to be unaware that Asprilla has now been granted a work permit to play in the Premier League - if Colombian sources are accurate. https://www.goal.com/en/news/yaser-...id-conquer-premier-league/blt8c24555609b90a8b
Premier League Cup team for tonight's 7:00pm game against Huddersfield. Hopefully we'll gain suitable revenge for the 6-0 tanking they gave us in the reverse fixture.
Apparently was pretty poor. Too much passing around the back . Good night for Huddersfield as their first team won too.
I'm not sure that this constitutes Watford News, but didn't know where else to post it. The day an angry Roy Keane tried to confront Tom Cleverley at his house. https://talksport.com/football/1033990/
