Someone has more confidence in us than we have - Watford 13/2 favourites for the title with Brentford 7/1, Norwich 8/1 and Bournemouth 12/1. That may all change if we don't sign a manager & some players soon though... https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...ol-city-outsiders-202021-championship-4399233
All on holiday it seems.. Let's hope we are ready when the season starts. Meanwhile another one of our players in trouble! https://www.caughtoffside.com/2020/...-leave-the-club-after-sex-party-video-leaked/
Mullins and Stack got more out of our squad in the last game than wolf man did in the first seven game after lockdown I wonder how good the youngsters we have including the academy graduates would be in the Championship My biggest worry would be going straight up with the existing first team squad without bringing in some good youngsters and being in the same situation as we were this year with some players being even older Would I be better to take 2 or 3 years and build a young hungry squad who could compete at the top level Big question could Mullins and Stack make that happen with an experienced Head Coach who doesn't bring in a full back up team We need stability and ambition
If you think back to the GT era, one of the things he wanted to know before signing anyone, was what sort of character they actually were. If they had wives he would interview them as well as the prospective player. Mo Johnson I believe was the one who really caused him a spot of bother, and he didn't last long.
Teenage striker Ryan Cassidy will spend the whole of next season on loan at Accrington Stanley in what Academy Manager Richard Thomas describes as “an enormous move” for the Republic of Ireland youth international. The 19-year-old has signed a new two-year deal with a one-year option at Vicarage Road and will spend the first season of that deal gaining valuable experience with John Coleman's League One outfit, subject to FA and EFL approval. “It's an enormous move for him,” said Thomas. “He's going into an unbelievable environment, with a quality senior management team and players of the calibre and character of Seamus Conneely, Mark Hughes and Sean McConville. It's a great opportunity for him and not only will it get him out into the real world, but I think he'll get minutes, too. The intensity and demands will be hugely different from Under-23s football and this move could really accelerate his career.
All seems to have gone quiet on the management/players front. I presume we are just taking our time to appoint someone Pozzos and Giraldi actually like ! Rather than approached potential candidates and been knocked back because of our reputation. Whilst we have had the chop and change approach for a while which had worked to an extent the Pearson sacking really did get us a lot of bad press. On the other hand a manager might take the risk and take up the job knowing they might not last long but get a nice pay off and probably a very sympathetic hand from the media so no reputation would be damaged. It would be all "typical Pozzos - mad owners etc" If anything Pearson has had his enhanced and Gracia is now at Valencia.
Pontus Dahlberg has agreed to join Swedish top flight side BK Hacken on loan for the 2020/21 season. The 21-year-old goalkeeper, who joined the Hornets in January 2018, will continue his development at the Gothenburg outfit until next summer.
I'd put this rumour in the same category as "I saw Raheem Sterling at the Junction Station - he's here to sign for Watford." In other words, nonsense.
Well the original report came from a well known Italian journalist so probably not totally unreliable. Italian coach for Italian owners. All gone very quiet on the management stuff tbh. You hope we haven't been knocked back a few times and scratching around for alternatives.
Normally they have someone lined up before they sack someone, suggesting that Pearson going was unexpected.
Pierpaolo Marino, Udinese Sporting Director, has stated that Luis Suarez will be staying at Watford "no matter what" (as reported on various twitter accounts).
