Party has been rescheduled. And no - they are not related so don't ever think I might have that kind of power!
Someone on the WFC forum has suggested the games against Brighton might be swapped around due to over running building work.. Not sure how reliable that is as we do have the friendly game week before .
We are getting 2 big screens on the top of the Rookery and Vicarage Road End - bit like Palace do (they'll hate us even more now!) to replace the ones in the corner which are being replaced by extra building work.
Not the only re-development on Vicarage Road then : https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/n...ks-bid-350m-improve-watford-general-hospital/
And of course there's this all too obvious development too. Health campus my arse. This needs to go back to the courts and thornhill and her cronies need to be held to account.. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/news/17761864.193-homes-proposed-watford-riverwell-site/
When I drive down to Limoges I go past a high rise block of flats, but alongside it is a large area set aside for allotments. They all have the standard shed on the plot so that the people from the flats have somewhere to keep their tools, etc. It is well known that not only are allotments good for wildlife, but also good for the health of people who cultivate them. I really fear for the people of Watford and surrounding areas who need to go into the town. On a Saturday match day, traffic can build up all the way to Bushey, and I have taken an hour to get from there to the Church car park. Coming from the Hunton Bridge direction can be just as bad. To put that many homes on this site can only make matters worse.
I always used to walk down and across Oxhey Park, before going through some of the alleyways between the houses and to the Vicarage Road terrace. When I get there these days I am usually visiting family in different towns, so don't really have the time for the walk.
The traffic from the Hunton Bridge side of Watford on the way to a game is rarely a problem in my experience. If busy the other option is to pop through Abbots Langley then past the film studios to reach the town hall roundabout.
One of the huge benefits of living in London is the excellent public transport. If I get the connections right I can get from my sofa to my seat in 40 minutes!
Very nice but nothing beats the match day experience. Regularly watching some of the best players in the world in our vastly improved stadium, at a sensible price (senior season ticket, does not get much better. I was in two minds to move from the Rookery to the Elton John stand but the facilities and access are so much better.
Of course I would like to actually be there just to get the smell of the onions as you walk down Vicarage Road. I am very happy to see what has happened to the stadium, but sometimes think that being in the EJ stand is not the best place to be with the sun in your eyes. From comments I see quite often some attention to the WiFi is required. It seems very odd to me how many people I see at a game these days spending so much time gazing at their phones, rather than what is going on in front of them.
