Looks like our game v Burnley will be pushed back to the Sunday now as they are currently heading through to the next round of the Europa League.

  2. Hurrah :-(
Just to ensure I am not entirely negative we do have our first game of the season as a Saturday 3PM kick off. The ticket came today so very excited!

I do wonder if Doucoure was manoeuvring all along for a better deal
All the links to "bigger" clubs came through him
Lets hope he shows he's worth it over the coming season

So none of them will play tomorrow?

Thought the 2 full backs would be first choice !

Looks like we've had some bad PR here and tbh I don't blame WGC for being angry .

This is really poor from our club, obviously I don't know the full reasons, but on the face of it we have not acquitted ourselves well.

Clubs like WGCFC rely on these prestigious fixtures to provide much needed funds

I am thinking of setting up a crowdfunding page for this to at least cover the costs the Welwyn have incurred. Do you think it would be supported? Anyone have any idea of how much of a target i should set?
The irony of the date of the game and fact that GT would turn in his grave knowing WFC have done this should not be lost

Doesn't make sense to not even comment on the reasons why or send an Under 23/18 side - we did for Welling and Hemel games .

Already on BBC sport and Daily Mail site - will probably get more attention than the GT statue reveal .

I really hope that the club make a statement on the WGFC affair and pay them every penny it has cost them. There maybe a reason for this to happen, but unless we know what it is, it will sit badly with many of us.

It's all being sorted. Bad news travels at the speed of light, good news travels at a snail's pace and will doubtless not be publicised with the same fanfare.

    Encouraging game

  15. 2nd half was much more promising. Lots of people moved from the SEJ to the Rookery. Guess it was the sun so glad I'm not sat there. Must have been almost unbeatable today.

  18. It's very well done in my opinion. There were a few people getting photos sat next to him. I think he would have liked that :)

I was following some twitter comments, and the impression was that our goal machine Gray has dried up, missing several chances. Did we actually play two up front, or was one dropping deeper?

Looked like 442 which was interesting.

Certainly a better 2nd half and we only used one sub.

Sema was the only new outfield guy to play - and looked lively with some pace and willingness to get stuck in.

Foster hardly touched the ball really and their goal looked offside.

Typical powerful Deeney finish from a Gray knock down - the latter had some efforts well covered by the defence.

Baring in mind 3 of our best players were out it was encouraging after the break.
