http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/14793483.Nigerian_break_silence_on_Success_injury_doubts/ All nonsense it seems...
I may be wrong, but I thought that it was the friendlies he usually missed and because they didn't have another out and out left wing, they were playing different set-ups in friendlies and competitive matches.
Maybe but he always seemed to have an injury at the same time. Perhaps there was some sort of agreement.. Anyway a successful day from the past: As you can probably tell!

One less player to worry about getting injured on International duty: http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...unces_shock_international_retirement/?ref=rss
http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2016/10/ex...outh-team-captain-fail-to-cut-it-at-watford/? Didn't fancy either of these to be honest...
And also (source: my Dad - not the most reliable) top for non-English players. Bournemouth bottom of that table apparently.
I think that's all a bit clouded by the term 'home grown' though. We have a squad of 22 'senior' players, of whom 5 are home grown and actually are home grown in that they were born here (if you count Gilmartin who is Irish). Manchester City have a squad of 20 'senior' players of whom 4 are home grown - and those 4 include Gael Clichy & Raheem Sterling, neither of whom were born here. Similarly, Bournemouth have a squad of 22 'senior' players, of whom 19 are home grown - and those include Gradel, King and Smith, none of whom were born here. So Man City are ahead of us - and at least we are honest about our English players...
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...players_discover_African_Cup_of_Nations_fate/ Three players possibly involved in African Cup of Nations in January - as far as I can see, only one that we'll miss badly though.
Success a doubt for Sat - http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2016/10/isaac-success-might-not-be-available-for-trip-to-swansea-city/ However, from the same link, some good injury news: On the plus side, Daryl Janmaat returned to training today for the first time since injuring his shoulder, but the game against Hull City is a more realistic target for the Dutchman. Mazzarri reported that Stefano Okaka “is very close” to returning while Miguel Britos is expected to shake off the problem that saw him substituted at the Riverside. Jerome Sinclair is also available for selection after recovering from a problem with his left hamstring. Brice Dja Djedje will, however, be out for “some time”, added Mazzarri.
As a result of a discussion with jerzeypie at the weekend, we realised that WFC have had 2 England internationals born in Jamaica (Barnes and Blissett) and 2 Jamaica internationals born in the Greater London area (Doyley and Mariappa). We also had Marcus Gayle as a Jamaican international born in London, but didn't win any caps as a WFC player.

The last time Mariappa played for the Under 23s we let in 4. Shame but doubt that is helping his chances of more first team football! BTW it seems Ighalo has been linked to Napoli so is clearly attracting interest despite not playing well.
