Watford have confirmed their opponents for a third friendly during their pre-season training camp in Germany in July. Having previously revealed they would face Bundesliga 2 outfits Eintracht Braunschweig and SC Paderborn 07 during a week-long stay in Germany, they will also take on fourth-tier side SC Verl on Wednesday, July 15 at the Stadion an der Poststrasse, kicking off at 6.30pm local time. The kick-off times for the other two friendlies have also been announced. The Eintracht Braunschweig match at Eintracht-Stadion on Friday, July 17 will also get underway at 6.30pm, while the game against SC Paderborn at the Benteler Arena two days later kicks off at 4pm local time. What do we know about any of the above teams?
They had a story about this on the BBC website, although they didn't mention Adrian - apparently the Guam manager is a former Bognor Regis Town player!
Disappointing to see John Barnes doesn't rate our chances.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...der-survive-Premier-League.html#ixzz3dLU5KFNP The last thing we need with a new manager coming in is a load of new players needing time to adjust - that rarely works in the Premier league. Just look at the likes of Liverpool and even Man U (for a while) when they brought in loads of players last summer. Nothing about the actual quality we might need - its all about "solid hard work" isn't it in this country.... Does he suggest we don't have such players - thinks all our guys are fancy dans from overseas?
http://www.watfordfc.com/news/artic...l-watford-fc-sheffield-wednesday-2497861.aspx Right guys, time to own up. Who has their mug shot on here? Is it Dan in the yellow wig?
Great player, legend at two clubs. Not much of a success as either a manager or pundit. I reckon that this article is a case in point. Ho hum.
Hmm - Championship sides struggle when they go up - there is a great gulf between the Championship and Premier League - promoted clubs need to increase their squad - a new manager from abroad has a steep learning curve - wow such insightful comments; none of us would have thought any of that
I was quite interested in the we need solid players who work hard type of comments.. I'd say this squad is one of the hardest working we've had from back to front! If anything its more quality we need to add maybe and some defensive players (which we have) As I say though the last thing we should do is bring in a load of players to unsettle the squad just as Flores is trying to get used to the current ones.
John Barnes was a great player but a poor manager. I think his comments should be taken in that light.
Watford have announced they will face Europa League winners Sevilla in a pre-season friendly at Vicarage Road on Saturday, August 1. The Golden Boys will welcome the Spanish side a week before they get their Premier League campaign underway. The game is scheduled to kick off at 3pm. Sevilla finished fifth in La Liga this summer but clinched their place in the Champions League qualifying stage after defeating Ukrainian side Dnipro in the Europa League final last month.
