I don't know if it counts in the League Cup but I wonder if he is just being used as the "unlucky one" out to ensure we have enough home grown players in the match day squad. I remember last season on a couple of time the club admitted this was the reason for leaving him out.

As a back up keeper Paddy Kenny has just become available. Cellino doesn't like him because he has the squad number of 17 which he apparently regards as bad luck. Fruitcake anyone?
