With this guy coming in and Dyer we have some much needed pace added to the team... Hopefully he can settle quickly and get used to the Championship.
2nd game starting now: Gomes; Hoban, Cathcart, Tamas, Pudil; Battocchio, Abdi, Murray; Vydra, Deeney, Dyer
Zola, is the past, he dug his grave and remember that terrible run we went on under him too. Beppe has got a good job on his hands, no excuses we have a good squad now. Time for B.S. to show us what he is made of! We've got some good players in now, maybe our defence is improved too but time will tell on that one. Now the players and manager need to walk the walk! Attack and midfield look very promising indeed. COYH COYH COYH !!
Apparently we are 3-0 up after 25 mins in latest friendly, goals from Abdi, an OG, and Vydra plus one disallowed by Dyer for offside. Seemingly happy with our team in 4-3-3 we have switched to 3-5-2.
Despite the explanation it is still difficult to work this one out. Strangely I did see this put forward yesterday as the route taken to get him to us. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp..._the_Pozzos__contact_list_is_helping_Watford/
Someone elsewhere suggested that Beppe will get the players fitter than they were last season so we won't lose as many games in the last 10 minutes, and therefore increase his win ratio. Let's hope they are correct. I don't want pre-season expectations dashed so easily in the coming season.
What's important is that we seem to be getting our business done early, and that most of the players who actually start the first match will have had the benefit of a full 'pre season' with us.
Also two biggest signings aren't new to the club. Of the other signings probably only Gomes will start the season as number 1 in his position which means we 'shouldn't' have the same issues getting the team to gel this year. Of course, there are no certainties in football.
