If this is true, Ak, then it would be quite a coup. According to wiki he is attracting the interest of some big names. He's also scored 34 goals in 38 appearances.
If it's true and he does as well as the last Icelandic striker we had, he'll be very popular at the Vic.
Seems that we are a good place to hoover up a few players. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10715790.Seven_Hornets_selected_for_international_duty/ Just hope that it doesn't add to the injury list.
If you need a mid-week football fix, Jon Marks is commentating tonight via Hornet Player on the Prem league U21 Cup tie between Watford and Bristol Rovers. Kick off is 7.00pm BST.
Jon Marks has posted a picture from the Vic showing the demolition fencing is up. Looks as if his tower is in danger.
I've been to Herenveen a few times with work. You have to take when catching the train from Schipol - if you sit at the wrong end of the train you end up going to a different town as the train splits up!
England manager Woy was just on 5-live defending 'keeper Joe Hart..he mentioned that there were a few up and coming English 'keepers and mentioned the young lad at Watford...go 007
Only just signed in without a problem BB which doesn't help I know. Jon Marks has lost his tower and is reporting that demolition work is started. No goals so far, but Watford doing well so far with a mixture of pro and academy players.
Quite enjoy these games where you hear plenty of Watford chat even if not too much match commentary. Not so stressful either.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10716666.East_Stand_to_open_in_new_year/ Yesterday the supporters trust reported on a meeting they held with the club over the development. Part of that report goes as follows. " This is an important investment and the club recognises how important it will be to maximise income from additional streams such as advertising. The justification comes from the increased demand and the fact that we are selling out most of the home league matches. It also fulfills the promise made by Scott Duxbury at the fan forums last season. The stand is appropriate for our current fan base and will not result in any significant debt for the club. This reflects the approach of the owners and management that we operate in a financially sustainable way, which is a refreshing change and shows why we will be one of the best run clubs in the country. Nothing is risk free but the Owner is making sensible business plans to minimise risk." The bold type is mine. I wonder how this is being structured.
Went to the Under 21s game against Bristol Rovers last night. Mostly was the kids from the Under 18s expect Brown and Woods who actually scored the winning penalty in a long drawn out penalty shoot-out (not helped by the fact most of the players had cramp so could hardly kick..) Bristol Rovers scored in the final minute like Norwich! Uche Ikpeazu played - looked very strong and powerful but kept getting pulled up for fouls. Jakubiak scored and Luke O'Nien impressed the most.
The stand will be sponsored maybe? i.e. it could be known as the Football Manager Stand or the Bet 138 stand or whatever - that sort of thing.
Luke is fantastic isnt he. Its amazing to thing that he is only on his first pro contact. He was also played out of position given that he is an attacking midfielder by trade. I really hope he gets an extension!
Good to see that the new management are not trying to cut links with the past. http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/east-stand-latest-news-1094977.aspx
I saw this in the Watford observer. http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2013/10/udinese-to-send-playmaker-to-watford/? interesting.
Oh well! Ak. It's a rumour now. He was seen at the Vic for the Wigan game. Won't be long before you read it everywhere.
