As far as I was aware, a straight red is a 3 game ban - end of unless it's your second of the season, then it's 4. I can see this going one of three ways: the card gets rescinded completely, it's downgraded to a caution or the ban becomes 4 games due to being classed as frivolous. Could it be possible that, in the process of doing this, Noone gets punished for his part in Pudil's sending-off? That would mean the FA giving the info to the FAW, which I doubt will happen.
I really can't see the appeal being classed as frivolous if it's being backed up by the opposition manager & player - if it is, that would surely lead to some serious questions about the FA and their competence (or lack of).
I noticed that MM went to the Watford fans at the end of the game to give them a clap. Could he be trying to win favour with them again?
Unfortunately, I don't think the FA will back down on this one after MV red was recinded. (IF that is how you spell 'recinded')
Basically, it seems Noone cheated. Got Pudil sent off, and now feels (or has been made to feel) guilty, and is going to 'do the right thing'. The right thing was to not cheat in the first place, and cost us at least a point. This doesn't make me feel like Cardiff are going out of their way to help, it's way too late for sorrys imo! Fuming more now, because it proves the red card was futile.
Exactly H - IMO that's potentially six points we have been cheated out of - I wonder what affect that would have on the final points table. I have to say that I'm surpised that, in this day and age, fans don't have an official 'voice' with which to express their concerns over what is happening in today's game. Chairmen have a voice, managers have a voice, players have a voice, unfortunately for football in general Blatter and Platini both have a voice - we're the ones who keep the game ticking over, so why don't we? Or do we and I just haven't heard about it?
You're right BB....there are fans forums, and fans groups but who listens to them? And they are more club related than football related. This kind of thing highlights so many things that go wrong with one bad decision, or one ill advised ref, or one player that decides to 'play' the game instead of play it!
An interesting interview with the CEO about getting people into the Vic. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10008663.Duxbury_targets_15_000_attendance/ He clearly does realise that people don"t have money to throw around, but I think he might have trouble getting to his numbers every week.
I guess we should be thankful for small mercies - but will we ever know why it was only reduced and not rescinded given the support from Cardiff & Noone? Or was it because we only asked for a reduction rather than for it to be rescinded?
Im guessing its cos Pudil did actually put his hands on Noone which constitutes violent conduct. Therefore it would be dangerous to appeal. Much safer to have it reduced
Club try to get fans back by doing delas for the next few games which is good. Also story here suggesting 17 players will be off in January: http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...o-on-a-chopping-spree-at-watford-8227798.html Most of the guys who have gone out on loan apart from Britt must be likely to be given free transfers plus the likes of Buaben and Big Chris but could some of the loan players also leave?
Mark - I had already drawn up 'my list', split into two categories, Yes and Maybe - and still only arrived at 15. Some have already gone but I didn't include Whichelow and Mingoia either as they're not even included in the squad list on the OS. Yes: Dickinson, Iwelumo, Jenkins, Buaben, Garner, Battachio, Hodson and Chalobah who will be leaving anyway I presume; Maybe: Forsyth, Beleck, McGinn, Bennett, Bonham, Eustace and French-guy-whose-name-escapes-me. I'm so glad I'm not Zola, having to make the choices.
BB I think it was downgraded to a yellow thus rescinded but that was his 5th yellow thus 1 game ban just my guess anyway , not sure I believe the spin from the offish site these days on matters like this coz they are scared off getting punished by the FA/FL for anything , and wish to be squeaky clean in everything else. Lets face it other fans ,other clubs ,other chairman are pissed that we can circumvent loan rules, also there is the usual bigboy attitude that wishes to keep us as lil ol watford. I wonder how long it will be before authorities and other club chairman try to close the loopholes we are using. Paranoid ? maybe maybe not Another one is that match fixing and spot betting (red cards pens etc ) are more rife than we know . Or alternatively we are what others believe and are a dirty team of cloggers. Take your pick.
A Charlton said on their forum when we played them he had seen a video made by the analyst which showed our players doing various form of "cheating/fouling" so maybe we do have a reputation because of where teams think most of our players are from.
Aaargh - I'd never thought of that one. Let me see - where is the biggest hotbed of sports gambling? - Oh, I know - Malaysia. Who owns Cardiff City? Oh, I know - Malaysians. 2 + 2 = ??
i'm guessing it's because nobody actually saw it so we don't have any argument against at least a yellow...as it's only the linesman who saw it...!
