True, but with our manager if he felt the sole reason Mirfin wanted to be here was purely down to wages then he probably would have said to Scunny that he's available.
Well, if they do well whilst out on loan and the manager deems them not good enough then the club who had them on loan might put an offer in????
ooh well spotted Leonardo!! And congrats to you too for your mega-thread! You'd have thought! lol Gotta agree with this sentiment...
Hopefully he's not one of these players who would rather earn more and never play than play every week but earn less.
That was my impression too Norway. For all the negative comments about his ability, he strikes me as an honest guy who wants to play as many games as he can at as high a level as he can. Money will be a factor, but I doubt we're paying him anywhere near £5k a week, and if that's right then we wouldn't be paying him too much more than Scunthorpe would offer.
SD hasn't said he wants to keep him, the Scunny manager says that's what he said. Maybe it's a negotiable thing?
I am not sure that you are right Mitch. One of the things that came out in the fans forum, the one that Baz failed to show up at, was that he had chosen to break that limit, although he was in general agreement with the policy.
I'd be surprised if Mapps was on less than £5k. He signed his deal just after the winning run last season, when there was widely believed to be interest from other clubs.
This is an interesting friendly match http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2787678,00.html
...and you know that for sure? There is no magical barrier stopping us. As others said it's unlikely that the more experienced players are on that little. Nosworthy, Taylor, Mariappa and Eustace must be on more money.
