It's an undeniable fact that Marvin didn't pass enough when Danny was here, and made fewer passes this season. But I've said before and I'll say it again, I can't blame him for his "greed" this season (and I understand exactly what Troy means when he says that that's not necessarily a criticism). Who was Marvin expected to pass to? In 2011 Deeney, Iwelumo, Garner and Massey couldn't buy a goal. Two or three of them have stepped up since, but at the time they weren't finishing.
Before that U21 game he was running with the ball, takeing players on, makeing forward runs, shooting from outside the area and generally just looked lively and up for it. After that U21 game he stopped doing all of that and no longer looked lively or up for it.
An interesting piece from Frank Smith. Sometimes he gets me rather fed up with his paste and copy stuff, but I think this is something far better. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9713372._Dyche_s_honesty_has_been_refreshing_/
One thing I noticed at the weekend was that Brendan Rodgers turned down a chance to talk to Liverpool - which is in line with his comments earlier in the season when connected to Spurs. I wondered then about his integrity but perhaps he has genuinely learned from the mistake he made in dealing with us and hopefully really has learned from it.
that's one thing that has stood out with SD...his honesty. Very commendable, and a good article, thanks M Frenchie.
I see that both NN and AM have become internationals now. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9717402.Hornets_duo_help_Jamaica_to_victory/ I would have thought though that they might have been happier to have received caps rather than bows.
SD must have given the OK for Sean Murray to be in RoI U-19 and U-21 squads - I think that it would be better for him to be in just one of them.
I'm a little annoyed that Murray is in both squads. It's great that he's stepping up to the under 21s, but what has he possibly still got to gain from being in the under 19s? Surely taking the opportunity to give him an extra week or two off would have been of benefit to both Watford and Ireland?
