It must have been a very low offer I think. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9487855.Watford_rebuff_Newcastle_bid/
OFH, just beat you by posting that on the Mapps thread as we seem to be discussing this everywhere Didn't know exactly where to post it! My head hurts
It does get a bit out of hand whenever there are multiple threads on the go. Still the window is only open for another week and it will return to normal I guess.
I agree that we are far from relegation fodder, we are 6 points clear and have only lost the last 3 games. But dont forget that 2 of those 3 were against top 6 teams!! I also dont trust anyone to step into Mapp's boots just yet as all are not quite the finished article yet and lack any experience. I think we need a winger ASAP to provide the strike force with crosses and through balls. I think Prince and Hogg together are a good partnership with Mapps as captain. I know i keep saying it, but the statistics dont lie!! I dont think we need a new striker, we just need to give the current ones the service they require, or failing that we need to give one of the youngsters a chance.
i agree with most of that, though i agree with Al, i don't think the youngsters are quite ready yet..though i must admit, i would have thought we'd have seen one or two round about now...at least on the bench..
Im not saying that they are ready, but they deserve a chance. I know its a whole other level but something like 7 goals in 10 games is a phenomenal return, so surely Britt deserves a slot on the bench and maybe 10mins at the end of a game!?!?! And Whichelow also scored in the couple of games he got.
Something is up with Whichelow. He got sent back from Oxford (or wherever he was), i don't think he recovered properly from his injuries if he isn't being used. Britt maybe able to score for Wealdstone, but that doesn't make him first team material. However, i agree, there's no reason not to bring a younger player off the bench at some point in the last 20 mins or so...trouble is, we don't have room on the bench for that luxury...

Baz on transfers http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2579934,00.html Once agai he is playing his cards close to his chest.
To give him his due, that's a marked improvement on the public auction he advertised last summer. (sorry, did I say auction? I meant fire sale)
Omly fools will think we can keep onto our top players no matter what bid we got but it would be good to get as much as possiable...
There was not a lot else he could say was there? He was hardly going to say what figures he has in mind. I do find it rather funny when he talks hard, as that photo makes him look like a puppy hoping that someone will give him a home.
Did anyone see the feature about Lloyd on his 10 years at the club last night..on BBC late kick-off show.
