Lots of mentions of Watford on this board today?!?!?! http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&so...w9DzBw&usg=AFQjCNGTiioX5Ey640Lr3VSyiSlVNu2zyg
I think Gilmartin was a fair buy. On the pitch, he was bought as a replacement for Richard Lee. A man who will work Loach very hard, who knows that realistically he is waiting for Loach to get injured, but who isn't bad enough to single-handedly get us relegated if the worst happens. His actions in the cups this year were of little consequence, because we got pretty mediocre draws and were probably quite glad to be out of the cup at the end of January anyway. Off the pitch he has been a great ambassador for the club. I think Deeney was a decent buy too, it's just a shame that there was a relatively large price tag involved.
I first saw Gilmartin in the pre season, and was praying Loach wouldn't get injured. I understand he's been good for us off the pitch, and we haven't needed him on the pitch, but all i can say is, i hope he's improved. Deeney i rate highly, he's just not had the breaks this season, but he works really hard, and he never gives up.
I think Gilmartin needs game time, I was there for the Brighton game and yes he made a gaff but look how many gaffs/ mistakes / errors of judgement Loach has made throughout the season. He has cost us countless points! I think we need to bring in an experienced keeper, saying that we need more experience through the whole team say 3 experienced players to come in and bolster the squad. Just my thoughts!
29 May 2011 23:54:31 Watford to receive around £3.0 million for Danny Graham as well as Simon Cox. They will also receive around 2 million from the Ashley Young deal to United. 3 million of this will be used to clear debt and Bassini has given Mackay a transfer budget of 2 million. His targets are: -Simon Cox (part of Graham deal) -Rhoys Wiggins -Craig Mackail Smith (Watford fan) -Ryan Tunnicliffe/Jordan Mutch (loan) -Gary Taylor Fletcher -Mark Hudson Kevin Phillips will also return to the club as a player coach. 306700470 29 May 2011 21:21:10 Nottingham Forest are to attempt to snatch Watford boss Malky Mackay from Vicarage road. This is due to the fact that current Forest boss, Billy Davies is near to the end of his controversial reign as manager. It is thought that Watford would only be due £500k in compensation if the hornets boss was to leave for the City ground.
I really would like to know where these guys get their fairytale information from!?! They should start writing fiction novels! We could not afford CMS and I am sur Simon Cox must be on more than our 5K wage limit and as for Super Kev coming back as player coach, how we would we pay his wages!!!!
my sentiments exactly...it is weird how these rumours start though...i always think there must be some basis for them to get going but then most of them come to nothing...thankfully!
If Kev has long term ambitions to be a manager, he could do worse than take a hefty drop to come here. The rest of them seem to be the usual rubbish.
If the worst happened I would like us to try to get Nigel Gibbs! He has had ages as a number 2 time he stepped up! I dont think Dyche is ready yet !
http://www.tribalfootball.com/artic...e-young-closed-england-international-1664371? this looks positive !
http://www.tribalfootball.com/artic...-qpr-target-mackail-smith-will-leave-1664231? also of interest to us! Qpr might get CMS and DG!
Be gutted if MM left. As for a replacement though, Pat Rice contract has expired with Arsenal and not sure if he has yet renewed it, So if possible I'll have Pat Rice as No1 with Nigel Gibbs as a No2. ('Do I like that', as GT may say)
