I just hope loach doesnt get injured now!! We have no keeper on the bench, but i guess it gives another player the chance to step up.

He is back in time for tuesday, but this weekend we have Bonham (an academy scholar) on the bench.

That may be so, i just hope that Loach does not get injured. I would rather not throw a keeper in at the deep end!! Its different with the kids playing outfield as you have back up, but keepers alone can do their job

Agreed, it'd be very worrying if he did get injured!

SD said on the official site that he's not sure if Bonham will be on the bench, so going with 5 outfielders.

That would be a worry. I know a keeper often just warms the bench, but its important to have back up. However we could give someone else a break.

Always risky going without GK cover on the bench ,which of our outfield players has gone in goal before?

Seem to remember Doyley taking over in goal during a game - may just be my memory playing tricks though. Is he fit yet?

Was it Doyley? I definitely remember, not that long ago, under AB i think, that we had a GK (hmm, thought it was Loach but i could be wrong)...go off injured and no GK cover on the bench..it was a nightmare! Having said that though, i think we have a much stronger back 4 now...

The last time we used the goalkeeping substitute was under Aidy Boothroyd, less than a month after the last Olympics.
