http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2478362,00.html OFFICIAL: KIGHTLY ARRIVES ON LOAN The Hornets have today (Tuesday) captured the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers' forward or wide man Michael Kightly for a month. The former England Under-21 international arrives at Vicarage Road and will give further options to Watford boss Sean Dyche in attacking areas. Kightly has been regularly involved in Mick McCarthy's matchday squads this season, both starting and coming off the bench, after returning from a long-term injury towards the end of 2010-11. The versatile attacker made his mark in 2006-07 when he attracted the interest of Wolves. He initially joined on loan from then non-League high-flyers Grays Athletic in November and then signed permanently in January. Kightly's professional career started at Southend United where he made first-team appearances between 2003 and 2004 before moving on loan to Farnborough and then signing for Grays in 2005. After impressing at Grays and scoring 25 goals, he got the big break with a Molineux move. The 25-year-old went on to establish himself in McCarthy's team and he made 41 appearances - many of which alongside Chris Iwelumo - and scored eight goals in all competitions as Wolves won the Championship title in 2008-09. His game time in the Premier League was cut short by injury the following season and just when he was returning he suffered another set-back, although he returned towards the end of last season where he made four appearances. Kightly takes squad number 18, vacated by Andi Weimann when he returned from loan to Aston Villa. please log in to view this image
The WO moaners seem to have been taken aback by the new loanee. "Desperate Dyche banking on him saving his job! Better be good." Only negative comment so far.
Desperate Dyche? lol. The news got a great response here...my son can't understand how we got him! lol...he's in shock!
I can't make up my mind whether the month loan of Kightly is good or bad - I suppose if it helps us to get a few points it is good but equally when he goes it simply exposes our weakness - I am not sure that a loan for such a short period is beneficial
Short term loans only benefit the players own team and himself as they use it to get match fit, if he is successful for us he will be whipped away back to Wolves for them to get the benefit of his match playing. Does it ring any bells? I know AJ was supposed to be with us till the New Year but he has just gone on from strength to strength and fair play to him. If Kightley does go on and score for us the fans will want him to stay and that is not going to happen especially the run that Wolves are on, they need him back to full fitness for their bid to ensure they are in the Premiership next season.
If it were an 'emergency' loan, I'd say yes - but honestly can't say that this qualifies as an emergency. It seems to me that either we've taken him on loan as a favour to Wolves or because SD is desperate to kick-start our season in any way he can. Or is this the precursor to another favour to Wolves - have they players they are trying to offload and we'll get one if we get Kightly fit? Who knows? Whichever, I can't really see that this loan will prove to be beneficial.
First rumour...Dyche will be sacked after the next two games if we don't get a win I hope it's not right...
We should be doing better than being in the middle of the relegation scrap. But for as long as we're actually in the fight, I think the rumour is a non-starter. Let's not forget whose job it is to sack the manager.
Interesting tweet from our Prince: pbuaben prince buaben Seriously my twitter peeps won't reply if it is about my football not aloud to talk about my club that am happy wit so save it !! Thanks x
Saw an article on the Watford Observer website earlier, where Dyche speaks about Sordell's poor form. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ation_and_England_may_be_hindering_Sordell_/? I think what Dyche says may be correct, however has he not thought that it may be because of the tactics he is playing? As has been discussed before, lumping it up for Sordell to chase is not going to make him play to his best, and he must know this which may be why he sometimes looks lazy. As seen last season, and a glimpse of on Saturday, Marvin is best when the ball is played to his feet and he is allowed to use his skill and trickery to make something. It appears Dyche has not considered this, and I find it worrying...
